I love my hair! – I recently got my hair done with Gina the manager here. I love my hair. The customer service here is awesome. Every stylist was nice. Gina told me she just took over the salon and there is a lot of new stylist at the salon. They came with her from her old salon. They are very knowledgable of color and cuts. The salon is young, bright, and fun. I will never go anywhere else.
A good experience here REALLY depends on the stylist you get. – I've been going there for a few years now, mostly out of convenience as it is in the mall and I live really close.
The first time I went was for a haircut for prom. I don't remember the stylist's name but she's the oldest employee there and has been working there for years. She's got a thick accent and is nice enough but didn't know what a pixie cut was. Instead, my hair looked like I was ready to go to bingo night @ the senior center. She cut it short and gave it volume all over. I complained about it and she would "fix" it and then try to coax me into believing it looked good by overly complimenting the cut and how well it suited my face. I was too passive about it then so I left it alone, paid, and then hurried to find another salon to fix it.
After college and moving back to Northridge, I went back to Regis and had a cut w/ a new stylist, Tamika. She did a PHENOMENAL job. She gave me professional hair advice and pulled off every cut/color I came in with. She even did my first perm and it turned out great! Random strangers would stop and compliment me on my hair everywhere I went and I would recommend them to her. She became "MY STYLIST" - the only one I went to and trusted my hair with. But, unfortunately, she left to another salon and, although I tried to follow her to it, it was too far and waaaay out of my price range. After losing "my stylist", I returned to Regis hoping to have another lucky find like I did w/ Tamika.
My next stylist was Manizeh, who is currently working there. She is a nice lady and knew I was very nervous about having someone new cut my hair. She did a decent job on my cut although nobody really complimented my new cut. It was nice and well done but nothing edgy, nothing attention-grabbing. She did do a great perm on me and people have been liking it. The curls look natural and well-defined. I've seen her color jobs and they look good too.
I'd recommend REGIS for perms/color and older adult cuts - but not for progressive cuts.

Butchered: The Worst Haircut of My Life – Llike a fool, I was tempted by the $35 price tag. I had long-ish bangs that needed to be re-cut so they would be side-swept. I told the lady (who barely spoke English) I wanted long side-swept bands. She took the scissors and made the first cut: baby bangs hanging one inch below my hairline! I sat straight up and screeched, "That's not what I said!" And she replied, "Don't worry. You look cute!" I had to let her continue or else one side of my face would have 6 inch long bangs and the other side would be 1 inch, and that would look even worse. It was the worst haircutting experience I have ever had.
