superb persian food, favorite persian restaurant, horrible service, not that great ambiance, big portions, favorite default restaurants, not polite main food server
decent food.
After losing a bet to my buddy, I was forced to take him to this restaurant to buy him dinner. I did not mind losing because I was able to take my buddy out to dinner. They have a polite and courteous staff that not only speaks Persian, but English as well . Before we ordered our food they served us with house salad with there choice of dressing. The salad was good, but I would prefer to have my own choice of dressing which they do not offer.
For food, we always order the soltani at any kabob place we visit. This dish is basically a Kabob Koobideh and a Kabob Barg which comes with a side order of rice and a grilled tomato. I found the food to be lacking enough salt which led me to sprinkle salt all over my food.
Overall, the restaurant is a bit pricey with dinner for two coming out to over $40 without tip. I rate this restaurant as average because compared to Darya restaurant in Santa Ana their barg kabob is not as lean and juicy. However, Shamshiri is much more convenient because it is not an hour away like Darya Restaurant.
Great food but dumpy place. The food is great, but the place is a dump, is matter of fact the whole shopping center is a dump. But like i said the food is great.
Shamshiri: it's good for the Persian food lover!. Shamshiri is one of my favorite Persian restaurants in LA and I've been to a few. My family and I often meet up here for dinner. We start with hummus and then order chicken and beef kebobs which come with Persian rice and vegetables. I usually can't finish the whole plate even though the meat is tender and delicious. I recommend ordering tea at the end.
Horrible service. I'm looking elsewhere..
It's unfortunate that I haven't found a closer Persian food restaurant to my home. The main food server is not polite. I feel like it's my fault that he forgot to bring my kabob kubideh and drink refill. I am constantly polite... figuring that he might take note and reply in kind. Nope.
3 gentlemen stand at the cash register and talk to each other. The bussers do their duties without hesitation.
After eating at 10 Persian restaurants, I would rate the food at 4 out of 5.
My favorite Persian Restaurant in the Valley. This place has awsome food...big portions can share...i prefer ordering out but inside the restaurant is more casual...my favorite persian restaurant in the valley ; )
Editorial Review. Casual and family-friendly, Middle Eastern restaurant dishes up exotic seafood, as well as grilled meat and chicken kabobs.
