Good Place. I dont know what bad experiences others have had here before but i liked the place. good and service was good.....not great but good!!!

Don't go. This place bites. Just tried going there this evening (it's a Saturday night) and arrived just before midnight. Apparently they had just called "last call." When we asked the bartender what time "last call" is, the response was "whenever they decide." REALLY? What kind of business are they running? Is that really the best way to run a business? Do they want to continue to be in business? It's the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard. They had live music (pretty good act from the few minutes we were in there, and he even seemed surprised that they had already called "last call.") and there was still a decent crowd in the bar. What a poor business decision. This poor judgement, in addition to management's complaint about lack of parking (which forced the employees of the #1 employer of the SCV to lose several floors of parking in the parking structure) - again, poor judgement as management failed to recognize that the majority of their lunchtime business had been these same employees -- has left a really bad taste. They do not deserve my business, nor yours. Don't waste your time. Santa Clarita does not have very many options, but there are better options that Salt Creek Grille.

best place to go out in scv. Salt creek is one of my favorite places to eat, whether out to a nice dinner or just for drinks with friends. They have a fabulous martini menu (try the french kiss) great dinner choices, (love the stuffed halibut) and awesome dessert (don't leave without trying the chocolate souffle!) Good restaurants are hard to come by in SCV and Salt Creek is consistently fun and yummy with a mixed crowd of people. I have never had a problem with service and in fact recall staff that has been friendly and very accomodating of my preferences and of my mom whom I dine with frequently who has food allergies.

The place has horrible service and even more horrible employees. The atmosphere is the only thing good.. We walked in on a weekday afternoon at around 2 when there is no crowds and it still took the staff a good 5 minutes to even recognize us waiting at the front desk. Service is absolutely horrendous. I recommend anybody to stay away from this place. Food is mediocre as well. The only thing that it I can say positively about the establishment is the mood and ambiance are nice.

Worst sevice in town! Stay away!. After visiting this restaurant since it opened, we are resolved never to return. We have watched the service deteriorate into making each visit a frustrating experience. This is the place to go if you want a fairly decent steak served at the same time as your appetizer and salad. You will have a table filled with each course you ordered as well as used plates the staff will remove when you ask them to. Don't bother complaining to management. They will tell you, "this isn't fine dining." However, the manager promises to provide quality service if you ask for it upon arrival. The place has attractive interiors, decent steaks (the aged beef is only mediocre), airhead hostesses, servers who don't serve and a management staff that doesn't know how to manage.

overpriced. very overpriced and the service sucked!

it took soooo long for the waiter to come over and soooooooooooo long to get our food!. and I had a sald so its not like they had to cook anything!

and it was not very good on top of that.

I will not return!

Excellent food and great atmosphere. The food was delicious and that atmosphere was really great. I've found it difficult to find restaurants with appealing atmospheres in Santa Clarita Valley. The food was a little pricey but well worth it. I had chicken with mozarella and prosciutto. My date had filet minon and loved it. I didn't have any problems with service. Our waitress was polite and helpful. There was a live guitarist singing near the bar that was entertaining as well.

User review by paperwife. First off, the food is AWESOME! -And the portions are large. The service has been good all of the times I've been there, however I've been to similarly priced establishments that had AWESOME service and AWESOME food...a great combination!!

So definitely check this restaurant out, just expect average service.

Great Food, But I'll Have To Pass. Having eaten at Salt Creek a few times, the food and drinks are superb. I had a German Chocolate Martini for dessert; it was outstanding.

The service is overall pretty poor. The owner tried to make it up by comping a meal, but both times we arranged to come back were fouled up because the hostess hadn't been told. That was the last straw and I doubt if we'd ever go back. The bottom line: the food is good, but it's not worth the hassle.

9/4/07 UPDATE: After having steered clear of Salt Creek for the past 4 years, I tried it again this weekend. On the plus side, we only had to wait 20 minutes for a table on a Saturday night at about 6:30pm. My husban'ds peppercorn steak was delicious and my Porterhouse stroganoff was tasty. On the minus side, the bartenders need to learn how to pour beer. My husband's Guiness was 100% foam. He had to wait several minutes until he could drink it. Our server did not make eye contact. She spoke to the table or some other furniture. I had to send my meal back because my Porterhouse stroganoff was raw. I didn't know the pieces would be big enough for the temperature to come into play and the server never asked. So while my meal was re-cooked, my husband ate in solitude. By the time my meal arrived he was done. There were no apologies from the server. We didn't feel like paying $10 for dessert after the experience and went elsewhere. So after four years of abstaining, the experience remains the same. The food is good enough that you hope the services improves, but nothing has seemed to change.
