What People Are Saying About Mayan Night Club

In Short – A landmark in L.A.'s historic theater district for more than 70 years, the Mayan leads a double life as an occasional concert hall and as a sizzling salsa club where Latin lovers and salsa dancers show off their moves. Friday and Saturday nights spotlight live salsa music with a bouncing blend of DJ-mixed Latin, meringue, retro, house and funk grooves shaking things up between sets. – –

This Club is lame. There is nothing cool or fun about it.
The Crowd is bad, you hardly see any good looking people, the Cover Charge is way too expensive for a cheesy club, and the staff is unfriendly.
I will never go back to this club not even if my entrance was free!
- Pros: its Big
- Cons: everything else
Don't go here

I cannot stand the Mayan... Too dark, too much fog, music is too too loud, the dance floor is terrible, it's such a pick up joint rather than a dance club, not the greatest neighborhood, and too pricey for all the above. By the time you pay for parking, the cover, coat check, a couple drinks, forget it!
The famed Alex da Silva teaches there Saturday nights, and that's not worth it either. His jokes are always the same, his moves don't change, his attitude... well, let's not go there, I've said enough.
The Details on Mayan Night Club
Look Good:
An upscale dress code is strictly enforced for club nights. Men are required to wear collared dress shirts. Call the club for the very detailed list of wardrobe no-nos.
