great fast food chain
Mexican fast-food chain serves up authentic citrus-marinated chicken and a variety of burritos and pollo bowls..
In Short
This restaurant's first roadside chicken stand opened up in Guasave, Mexico in 1975. A family-inspired recipe of chicken marinated in herbs, spices and citrus juices was an overnight success and the Mexican chain opened its first American location in Los Angeles in 1980. Ever since, customers have been devouring the house specialty--zesty flame-grilled chicken served with tortillas and fresh salsa. Other menu options include pollo bowls (rice and chicken), salads and quesadillas.
Good and Cheap. El Pollo Loco is a great fast food chain. The food seems like it's more nutricious than other chains such as McDonald's or Burger King. Besides chicken, there is also a variety of side dishes such as vegies, corn, beans, rice, cole slaw, etc.... Basicaly, El Pollo Loco is a lower price version of Koo Koo Roo. I love taking my daughter here since there is more on the menu than fries! Foster Freeze ice cream is also a treat. Prices are cheap, too.
