Worst Food Service/ Policies for Vendors Ever!. THE WORST FOOD SERVICE EVER! Solar Powered or Not, I am not impressed. And the worst policies for vendors who are there for 12-14 hours per day. You cannot bring any food in, even if you are working there. The only food options we had the entire day was shitty Chinese, gross Mexican- with no cheese, and ice cream cones- Seriously. It was disgusting. The cafe that served other food was closed the entire day- on a Saturday. There was not a healthy option in the place. The only veggies were either drenched in MSG or spices. Not even something remotely tastey. Your only choice is rancid ethnic food that will turn your stomach or soft serve ice cream in a building that is already freezing. And I mean freezing, it is uncomfortable when you feel the A/C blowing down on you when it is 45 degrees out. I had to work 12+ hours there and almost passed out because I could not get away long enough to actually get away from the convention center to get a meal that I could eat. I wish I had passed out actually. Then, they might have change their policies or add at least 3 or 4 more food stand options- at least one of them being healthy, in the actual convention halls. As a vendor working the event, I was absolutely miserable the whole time!
Great Spread of Architecture!. The Los Angeles Convention Center is definitely a mecca in the city's downtown area. At least once in a tourists' or local citizens' lifetime, they more than likely will have to visit this huge stomping ground. I went for the first time for the 2008 Los Angeles Auto Show and really enjoy the easy navigation of the building, and beautiful floor space and layout of each of the car brand sections. Really enjoyed the scene and the organization of the show. However, it was a bit chilly outside so to have to walk out one side of the building to walk to the next side (From South to West Hall) was a bit much. But overall, it was a fond experience that I will hopefully participate in again.
The city's premier meeting space hosts everything from Internet conferences to home remodeling shows..
In Short
With over 15 football fields worth of valuable real estate, this sprawling downtown behemoth is meeting central for organizations needing conference rooms and exhibit halls. Companies from across the country set up shop here, holding trade shows and networking with associates. Every so often, the public is invited into the glassy pavilions for large-scale consumer exhibitions such as the L.A. Auto Show and California Gift Show.
