Chris, Peggy and the staff at Brandywine are the BEST!. My girlfriend and I absolutely love this place! It is like a slice of culinary heaven! Chris and wife Peggy are gracious hosts and provide plenty of personal attention to each and every client. The servers are great and it seems like they are a part of a big family. Now let's talk about the food.....there is only one thing to say...AMAZING! My favorite is the Filet...they cook it just they way I want them to, and my girlifriend loves the lobster.....(also try their Foie Gras)! We recommend this place to all foodies. Classy, Exclusive 5 Star Brandywine!. The best classy food in the San Fernando Valley, small but, exclusive restaurant, the owners are the chef and the host, so the service is outstanding. the food is a bit pricey, it is one of the best elite and very intimate restaurant for the quality and care that goes into the preparation, the price is worth it! Anthony from Family Ayala's Upholstery another intimate and absolutely unique place, recommended us. The wine and champagne selection is great, try the Raspberry Champagne, it's incredible. We enjoyed it to the fullest. Thank you for the recommendation Ayala.
Brandywine Is Very Nice, with Good Food, and a Gracious Host.
I am going to be 100% honest about this place. I use to live in Woodland Hills and my then-wife and I would go here periodically. It was always excellent. However, it is a tiny place, and is not fancy in decor. I would not take someone there if it was a celebration because it doesn't look "special" or "fancy." I would probably stick with Ruth's Chris or Morton's if I wanted to impress someone with the decor.
Decor aside, the place has very good food. It is super-tiny and only seats a handful. It's a wonder how they can profit with so few tables. The caesar salad is made tableside, and is always excellent. I have had the pepper steak many times (new york la poivre, I think it's called) and it was always great.
If you want a great meal you go here. But you will pay $100 or so for 2 people (with salad and drinks). And it won't be too fancy, but it will taste great.
The best in LA!. One word...fantastic! This is quite possibly the best restaurant I've ever been to. Not only is the food wonderful, the staff, the owners and the chef are top notch. It far surpasses all the"celebrity" restaurants we've dined at. If you want the best food, quiet ambiance and wonderful service please make a reservation today. Weekends seem to be booked solid so we like to call a few weeks in advance. Request a private booth. We go about three times a month and have never been dissatisfied. Truley a jem in the valley. Oh and don't forget dessert. Again, FANTASTIC!!
Best restaurant in LA by a long chalk. I loved this place. The food was wonderful and you get HUGE portions so although its expensive in comparison with other restaurants, it does work out as good value for money. The staff are very professional and friendly and they really treat you as if you are their first and last customer. In truth, if eating out is all about the money for you, then you can definitely find cheaper places to eat. If its all about posing and impressing people then this is definitely not the place for you. If its about walking out of a restaurant feeling you had a wonderful meal, terrific service and a relaxing time, then this is probably the only place in LA for you.
Obviously Not For Everyone.
While my wife and I have been going to Brandywine regularly for 13 years, from reading oschin's review it seem's it is not for everyone. So if you are unable to appreciate fantastic food, excellent service, wonderful wines, and the friendliest owners around, please avoid Brandywine.
Sarcasm aside, we have dined around the world, and we always come back. The best.

The welcoming owner and live guitar music set the stage for mature crowds wooing business clients or celebrating longtime anniversaries, but the restaurant's reputation also attracts younger foodies. A chalkboard serves as the daily menu, which is dominated by seafood specialties and classic dishes like filet of beef, rack of lamb, soups de jour and tableside salads.
Fantastic. There is by far the best retaurant in the Valley and one of the best in the entire city. Every time my wife and I go, we think it gets better. Each time I try a new dish, it is better than the dish I had the last time. The restaurant itself is very romantic and the service is the best I have had. I have a hard time believing one of the other reviewers about the service and experience they had. Each and everyone of our experiences have been the complete opposite. They staff seem to fall over themselves to give us service. I agree with another reviewer that if I had to pick one restaurant to go to for the rest of my life, this would be it. Zagat and it's readers can't all be wrong. This year number 4 overall for food.
Overrated-Snooty-Waste of an Evening!. Huge waste of money! To start, we were told that we would have only two hours to eat and leave. When we arrived we were rudely greeted and astonished (I cant overstate this point) to have the owner treat us as discourteously as was possible. The room was plain, cheap and cramped. We were rushed and talked down to. When we asked questions, we were given very short answers that implied that we were stupid and should just take what was given to us. We noticed that everyone received the same curt, impolite service. We almost left, but it was a birthday dinner. The food was overly buttered, far from interesting and the service abysmal. Why on earth anyone would ever go to this place is beyond me. I can only imagine that some people think that small is the same as intimate, expensive means quality, and rude means sophisticated.
:) It's Wonderful ;). I thoroughly enjoy a dinner at Brandywine, the owner is sweet, Tikanis ;) the guitarist is fine:) the food and service is WONDERFUL :)
