huge large portions, great food, much fun place, big servings, great atmosphere, love kids, huge log cabin
12/30/2012 visited the bar for the happy hour asked for the tap beers after waiting 10 minutes for a waiter he informed us that they were having a problem with the taps and the beer was wam order bottled beer he said he would see if ther was a discount, instead of bring us the beer 15t minustes later he informes us that the bud would be happy hour anything else would be full price...first brin the beer we had been sitting for 25 minutes.we ordered and he proceeded to take additional orders around the bar instead of attending to us.. we waited 5 more minutes and left I asked for the manager and she wasnt available.. came home and call the manager and she said she was really really sorry about the experience and the they had called for service.. still unacceptable by my standards in restaurant business many year myself wont be back.....
So Disappointed. I went to have dinner last night at Claim Jumpers in Valencia with my boy friend although the wait was not bad dinner was just horrible I mean totally disgusting I ordered a tri tip plate wich was so bad they brought me a plate with six pieces of raw meat I mean the blood was all over my mashed potatoes just gross I did not even toch my plate any how I don't feel like 14.95 was worth that I would never go tjhere again!
Gold mining and dining unite at this kitschy all-American eatery..
In Short
Established in 1977, the Claim Jumper draws families, seniors and professionals with a mix of Old-West decor and a reliable menu of American classics. Logs, corrugated tin, rock and warm fireplaces embellish the unique ambience. Signature plates include hickory-smoked pork ribs, rotisserie chicken and barbecued beef tri-tip; the menu also offers tortilla chicken soup, potpies, wood-fired pizzas, and the popular six-layer Chocolate Motherlode Cake. The saloon features appetizers and the restaurant's own brews.
yes, huge portions.
the portions are huge. I recommend splitting one dish with two people. or plan on taking home some leftovers!
their signature dishes are the only ones I have tried and they are really good.
price is okay, not to expensive.
the motherlode chocalate cake....to die for!!!!
Eat at the bar and avoid the wait.
11/21/07 Update: I originally wasn't happy about the huge portions; I felt like I was either an oinker for finishing my meal or a waster for leaving some behind. I think they probably got the message because I've eaten here several times this year and have had positive experiences each time.
Lessons to learn: eat at the bar so you don't have to wait a lifetime to get a table. Yea, that works for 2 people, not a huge party. We like watching sports while we eat and enjoying Guiness and Newcastle on tap. The parmesan crusted chicken has become my favorite meal and it's hard to beat. Add a wedge salad and you're good to go. Really, there is so much to choose from that I can't imagine someone not finding something really good to eat. For dessert, I ordered the flan recently and was thrilled with it. The portion size was just right and it was a really unique dessert.
Huge servings. This place is one of favorite places to eat at! You walk in and you feel like your in a huge log cabin with alot of friends and family. It has that in the county feeling and you wish you did not have to leave. But hey you don't have to.. the bar is huge and everyone is so nice there! The servings are so big that you will have leftovers for the next lunch and dinnter! Oh and leave room for something sweet!
