Lemon Meringue Pie. This is a good location for lunch meetings. The wait staff is hit-or-miss. The food is very good, with generous helpings. Save some room for the lemon meringue pie.

Down-home, Midwest-style cooking and a straightforward menu to please the whole family.. In Short
Marie Callender's began in the 1940s in Orange County, Calif., as a bakery that specialized in pies. Now, pie is only a slice of this nationwide franchise's offerings. Family-style comfort foods like pot roast, pot pie, tuna melt and country-fried steak as well as pasta, burgers, salads and sandwiches dominate the menu. But, the big draw is still pie: More than 31 freshly-baked varieties are available daily. Whole pies also can be purchased to go.

Soupy pie! Never again!. I don't usually like Marie Callender pies because they're too sweet for me but I've been wanting blueberry pie for about a week and stopped to pick one up tonight. When I cut into this long anticipated treat I was disappointed to find it very runny. When I removed the first slice, all the fruit ran out of the shell and filled the space where the slice was. It was pretty disappointing. Not wanting to waste the 10 bucks I paid, I ended up "pouring" my slice into a bowl and ate it with a spoon like soup. Never again!

Surprisingly good!. My boyfriend and I generally avoid chain restaurants, but we decided to check out MC's out of curiousity, and boy did we make the right decision. The restaurant had a comfortable atmosphere with cozy booth seating. We went on a Sunday night and it was not crowded with little children, as is usually the case with "family" chain restaurants. The room was very quiet noise-wise, but had pleasant music to listen to in the backgruond.

Our waiter was extremely kind, attentive, and helpful. He refilled my iced tea without my having to ask, took our order right away, and brought out our food in a timley manner.

My only complaint is that the prices are misleading. We got more than we thought we would and ended up taking most of it home. I'd recommend this unassuming, casual restaurant to anyone. Can't wait to go back!

Good Food, Bad Service. The food was pretty good but the service was very slow and inattentive. It was not busy at all and there were alot of staff and mgmt. on the floor. I didn't see any reason for the poor service.
