Unsanitary. I was really disappointed with this place, it's not how I remembered it. Server and host were great but food quality went down, dishes and silverware were dirty. Bathroom wasn't very clean either. Managers are mean.

Not coming back to that place for sure. Not recommending to anyone to waste your money

Somewhere between fine dining and fast food lies this upscale burger chain.. The Scene
The first Hamlet opened on the Sunset Strip in 1950. After gaining success within the Hollywood community, the thriving burger joint opened franchises across the Southland. In recent years, the chain's popularity has ebbed, but thanks to friendly service and an old-school atmosphere, the remaining spots see a steady flow of families and locals.

The Food
The chain updates its traditional Americana menu with Cajun and Mexican trimmings, but the hearty ground-beef delights are the Hamlet's mainstay. The Just Plain and Delicious burger is exactly what the name implies--six ounces of juicy beef garnished with lettuce, tomato, pickle and onion. Other burger concoctions come with decadent toppings--ham, bacon, sour cream--but why clutter charbroiled perfection with anything more than a slice of cheese? Beyond burgers, there's creamy lobster bisque soup, loaded Cobb salads, and roasted chicken. Desserts lean toward the basics--chocolate cake, ice cream--and easily serve two or more.

Best Burgers, Salads, and Asian Pear Martini!. I had not been to Hamlet in years. When I entered, I noticed the dining area was nicer than I remembered. The bartender recommended her Asian Pear Martini. Outstanding!

I had a Napa Valley Burger, and my friend had the California Market Salad. Both were great.

I found a new hang out.

Better than I remembered. I haven't been to Hamburger Hamlet for years. I just got back from the one in Sherman Oaks. It was better than ever! It has a great menu, with a huge variety for all tastes. Great Job!

They have recreated themselves. I recently visited Hamlet in Sherman Oaks. First of all, they changed their name to "Hamlet Sherman Oaks". Upon entering I noticed they completley updated the interior. New furniture, and carpet. And a new menu. The food was amazing, and beyond my expectations. As was the service. Great Job!

A hamburger icon slipping. This always used to be my top "fancy" hamburger in L.A., especially at their always popular Sherman Oaks location. However, just like their aging clientele, their hamburgers have seen better days. The "Just Plain and Delicious" is now just plain. It's not bad but not the triumph it used to be. Not sure why but the quality of the meat might have taken a little bit of a drop.

Great ambiance, service, location, price.... The food was very good and there was more of a selection than expected. We thoroughly enjoyed our meals and the service was very good. A great plus is that they're open until 11:00pm and at 10:30 they're not trying to kick you out. Would recommend!

THE BEST PANCAKES EVER!. I frequent the Hamlet on Van Nuys Blvd. every Sunday for two reasons. The pancakes and the service. These hotcakes are so light, and thin, nobody comes close. And we are treated so well by the staff. I just wish they had the pancakes on other days other than Sundays. And my Wife loves the Heavenly Benedict.

Not just Burgers. Hearing the name Hamburger Hamlet, one might think it is a burger joint. But I was pleasantly surprised when I found they are closer to an upscale restauarnt. It is excellent!

Outstanding. I used to go to Halet as a little girl with my parents. I heard someone mention the Hamlet, and I had not gone there in years. I tried the one on Van Nuys bl. and was very impressed with the service, and the food. Good Job!
