best plain ice cream, loved candy land, cold marble slab, usually like good chocolate, great product, great location, huge cold slab
Sweet tooths line up for ice cream concoctions made on a granite slab..
In Short
Crowds of couples, teenagers and parents with toddlers press up against the long refrigerated display case at this dessert chain, where a variety of ice creams, frozen yogurts and sorbets are made in-store daily. Customers choose flavors like sweet cream, cake batter or banana, add mix-ins--ranging from candy bar chunks and Gummi bears to hot fudge and peanut butter--then servers mash it all together on a frozen slab of granite.
great selection, great location but I've had better....... Before Maggie Moo's, I thought Coldstone was heaven! I used to eat their maybe every weekend. I loved their happy birthday baby and candy land. I first thought it was kind of over priced but then again, I'm pretty much getting used to that. I think if you want good quality then you gotta pay more! Now I pretty much prefer Maggie Moo's over Coldstone any day! But since it's not located near me, I'll gladly accept Coldstone.
super-indulgent icecream in a million flavors. I love Cold Stone. This location is super-crowded at times, kind of a valley scene, randomly, but with good reason. I always get cake batter icecream with mini-marshmallows blended in -- it's heaven! Their icecream cakes are also really yummy, and the servers ring a bell when you put money in the tip jar -- fun. And don't worry, the line doesn't move too slowly.
great ice cream. BIG in taste, BIG in fat, but SOOO worth it. you start by choosing from the different ice cream flavors, then you pick the toppings you want to be added in. the servers then take all of that, put it onto a huge, cold slab of rock and mash it all togethor for you before putting it into a cup or cone. it's got to be some of the best tasting ice cream EVER. always a treat.
The most over rated. ice cream chain in Los Angeles. Charging so much money for the "mix-ins" is outrageous, and the ice cream itself is mediocre, at best...
Better off with a DQ Blizzard. Way over-priced ice cream. They do not give you enough candy in the mix-ins. The flavors are only ok. You are better off going to Dairy Queen and getting an candy bar Blizzard, it might even be cheaper there.
Oh the torture.. JEEEZ! Its torture just standing in line when I come to this joint. Oh so many toppings, and ingredients to choose from. I want it all. I usually like just plain ice cream, a good chocolate, or strawberry, but when I feel like I deserve a treat and I am completely willing to skip my dinner for this kind dessert goodness, this is the place. Though my choices are still pretty simple, the taste can't be beat. Hands down the best ice cream. Lines do tend to get long, but believe me, the it is worth the wait.
I saw STARS when I tried it. Fun, Hip, Tasty, and very Cool. I tried Cold Stone Ice Cream for the very first time in Hollywood and it was so good I thought I was dreaming when I looked behind the counter and saw George Cloony. It wasnt really him but the owner sure did look like him. He made my trip and I had to take pictures so my friends would believe me (Thanks Fred). Great service to go with a great product. Im going back home to France today and cant wait to tell my friends.
Worth It!. If you don't go too crazy with the mix-ins, Cold Stone has the best ice cream in LA. It won Best Ice Cream in Citysearch's "Best of Los Angeles" competition last year, and rightfully so. You'll probably have to wait in line to get your dessert, but it's well worth it. You have so many ice cream and frozen yogurt flavors to choose from, and a seemingly endless choice of mix-ins that you could go every day and never have the same thing twice. Only downside is that it's pretty expensive.
