When our grandmas used to set the table, we knew a feast was just ahead...huge platters of pasta, sausages, chicken and vegetables were aligned in an oh-so-perfect setting. After borrowing our grandma's recipes, and preparing each delicate dish to serve in our restaurants, we soon discovered how to bring the flavor of Italy to Southern California. So, please understand that if your food takes a little longer, it's because we're making it especially for you, just the way our grandmothers would want it made - there's nothing frozen. Every dish is cooked to order using the freshest ingredients in our kitchen. Come today, we promise you will enjoy this authentic Italian experience!

In Short
The decor may have a formal air, but old-world recipes evoke grandma's kitchen. Chicken quesadilla studded with pine nuts gets its Italian accent from sun-dried tomato and pesto sauce, and mushrooms come sauteed in an elixir of lemon, white wine, garlic and parsley. The Sisley chicken's stew of sausage, mushrooms, onions and peppers--atop a bed of Acini di Pepe--is ladled over the chicken breast. Homemade dessert includes ricotta cannoli and homemade tiramisu.

I had a surprise party in your Sherman Oaks location in January and thanks to your staff there, everything went perfectly. The manager Brian went out of his way the week before an the day of to ensure every detail was set and even helped me pick out a cake. He checked on our group several times throughout the evening... now THAT's how management should be. Kudos! Our server was Kurt and he was superb at managing our big group. Great service, great attitude. I couldn't be more pleased with the service or the food. My husband and I are regulars at Sisley already, but now I can't stop telling people that's where they should hold their parties. We'll absolutely do it again... I told Kurt and Brian how pleased I was that evening, but thought you should know... Kind regards PS -- LOVE the new vegetarian menu!

We have gone to the Sisley's in Thousand Oaks and have had a great meal so we decided to go there for Mother's Day( a day earlier though). What a huge disappointment. The food wasnt so great, the service was just horrible and one of the diners we were with, had to send her food back twice because it was cold( twice) . Then ,the nerve of the restaurant to actually charge us for that meal that needed to be sent back twice. The waiter never came around to see how we were doing, never offered more bread.. nothing. The pasta was slightly overcooked too. Waiter also forgot my wine.

Sisley works very well for lunch or dinner, for the family or when I have to meet a client. First, the food is very good. I like the fresh breadsticks, Gorgonzola salad, the Italian quesadilla, and the chicken or veal marsala or piccada. Their portions are generous and very tasty. For dessert the tiramisu is to die for. Since the portions are generous we usually have food to bring home and I like to bring a dessert home to eat the next day (or later that night). Second, the atmosphere is very nice and the location is perfect at the corner of Ventura and Sepulveda, across from the movie theaters. The staff is friendly and service is usually very good and friendly, especially with my kids. They like to go there for their birthday dinner. My younger ones ask for some raw pizza dough to play with. Good solid restaurant experience.
