nice contemporary service, very nice pastor, never nice people, too bad response, enjoyed very friendly, big catered lunch inside, rude comments
Wonderful church & preschool. I'm surprised by the negative comments also. We've attended this church for 20 yrs & even though we moved out of the area a long time ago, we still go because the people are so special & that's the # 1 thing visitors & prior members also notice. Good luck with your search & wherever you go but you would be blessed to be here & I'm sure we'd be blessed to have you!
We love this school!. My third child has graduated from this wonderful school, and just like her siblings has flourished in elementary school. We attended the school for 6 years and wish we could of been there longer. The staff is loving and creative. The small ratio's are wonderful. The administration is attentive to needs of the family and dedicated to the safety and well being of the children. My kids learned to love God and their neighbor. They learned their abc's, numbers and to take of the world God created. I was able to go to work each day knowing they were happy and safe. What more could a parent ask for?!
A Great Preschool!.
For the past two years, our wonderful (and very energetic!) daughter has been going to SOLCC. I find the school to be excellent. It is a nurturing environment with a loving staff that works together. They provide a fine balance between play and academics and I believe that our daughter is benefiting greatly from being there!
Thanks SOLCC!
Child lost at SOLCC (Children's Center). In addition to the negative comments, ask the school about what happened in Feb/March 2009. An unsupervised kid got out of the gates and was unaccounted for.
Pulled my kids out. I pulled my kids out of this hell hole. The principal is clueless, the toys are ancient, and there much better schools in Sherman Oaks.
Terrible Day Care for Children. The Children's Center is a very poorly run operation. Due to the fact that there is no screening process, special needs children are mixed in with other children, which in turns lowers the quality of the education. Also, there is a revolving door of pastors and teachers at the place. All of the teachers there seemed burnt out and unmotivated because managment stifles creativity. It's as though there's a dark cloud hanging over the school. Best to stay away.
HIGHLY RECOMMEND, WONDERFUL PEOPLE AND PASTOR. The negative poster below is exagerating and lying. On Sunday mornings the children attend the Sunday School right after the childrens service at the 10am service, then they come back into the church with their parents at the end of the service. At around 11:30 we have fellowship and the kids go out and play on the play ground supervised. We even announce this periodically in the service. Last weekend we had a retirement party for the Pastor, there was a HotDog vendor machine out there for the kids and a big catered lunch inside. Perhaps this neighbor is confusing an event with everyday activity. As for 14 hours a day, that's ridiculous, there are bible study groups, meetings during the week, preschool is out. I would suggest that when you rent or buy a house in a CITY that you factor in the noise levels of everything else you're crammed around. This is CA where is there never any traffic (rolling my eyes). Who was there first? The preschool and church or you? Move to the country if you don't like the city. As for the comments about the Pastor being rude, that's not true, he's the most down to earth, kind, friendly and REAL person you'll ever meet. Perhaps you are bit too emotional and don't like people to tell you the truth. And because someone disagrees with you that doesn't mean they are rude.
Fantastic, Welcoming Community. I am shocked and surprised at the previous review, most of which is not only untrue but impossible. The church adjoins a preschool for 2-5 year olds (my daughter attends). There is not noise 14 hours a day since the school opens at 7am & closes at 6pm. If you live near a preschool, children play. NO ONE is EVER unsupervised either. The children do not use the playgrounds during the weekends. On Sundays during church service they are inside attending "little church." The only exception is Easter when there is an Easter egg hunt & Graduation the other day which was noisy. Lighten up, you were a kid & ran around in preschool too. What do you expect? Anyway, I've never encountered such nice people as within this group!
Never move near this church. This "church"/daycare is a continual nusance to our Sherman Oaks community. Despite a mediation between tenants living near this church and the Pastor of the church, who is the most inflexible religious figure I have ever met, screaming children are still constantly allowed on the playground, unsupervised well past 7pm daily. The Pastor's response is "Too bad - move if it's too noisy". The weekends do not guarantee peace either as the children use the playground while parents are in church. When I went to church (and I still do with my daughter) I never told her to go and play on the playground while everyone else was in church. This community has and continues to suffer the constant noise and we are shunned aside. So much for thinking living next door to a chuch would be "peaceful". Never move near this church, you will regret it.
Wonderful Place. Very friendly, very nice pastor, enjoyed visit, nice people, contemporary service is good
