Originally opened in a former Orange Julius location, this casual, kosher Sherman Oaks eatery has since moved and expanded its fast-food menu to include more entree salads, deli sandwiches and grilled. In Short
Inspired by his daughter's observation that their local kosher community was without a McDonald's equivalent, Shlomo Laniado took the opportunity to open this Kehilla-certified burger and fries joint inside the old Orange Julius in Sherman Oaks. Laniado's kosher restaurant eventually relocated and today occupies a larger, more stylish, dark wood dining room a few doors down. The expanded menu now features deli sandwiches and more entree salad options, as well as grilled tilapia, trout and fish platters. Yet the restaurant's fast-food roots have not been overlooked. Burritos, burgers and chili fries, along with other Israeli street cart favorites like shawarma sandwiches and falafel pita pockets, are still available for customers to order at the counter.
