Great Greek = Great Experience. Years ago I remember meeting groups of friends there and having a blast - eating the feast (great value) and enjoying the music. It was such a lively place.

I had to come up with a restaurant last night for a first date and decided on The Great Greek. I had a few reservations since I hadn't been there in years and I assosciated it with parties, not quiet conversation. Well, I had nothing to worry about. The food was still delicious and on a weeknight it didn't get terribly boisterous.

I had the Santorini Sea Bass and it was incredibly delicious. My date had the domathes and thoroughly enjoyed them. The hummus was just as good as I'd remembered.

The service was warm and friendly and I can't think of a single negative. Enjoy!

The Great Greek is Great!. I enjoyed myself at this restaurant that serves tasty food and entertains with live music and dancing. We were a large table of 20 there to celebrate my cousin's birthday. Surprisingly, there was an equally large party behind us, also there for a birthday. In fact, there were a lot of birthdays that evening. There was a general air of festivity and graciousness that made us feel at home. The food was served family style and I was impressed with the flavors. My favorites are the light and airy dolmati, served warm with a delicate sauce and the chewy, warm pitas for dipping into hummus, melitzanosalata and creamy tzatziki. The portions are ample and the service is polite and attentive.

The real fun of the evening was the live entertainment. Bouzouki and guitar played as the waiters performed a traditional men's line dance. It was like a wedding celebration - where the men get up and dance. Afterward, everyone was invited up to dance!

This is a place to really enjoy yourself: talk loudly, eat lots of food, drink wine and dance. Definitely a place for celebration.

Great food, great atmosphere. A large group, ages ranging from 6 to late 70s went on a Saturday night. Our waiter suggested a preset menu which including hummus, tzatziki, greek salad, lamb, etc, and everything was amazing!! The musicians were great, the staff danced with the customers, and everyone was happy.

Epicurean extravaganza of festive vibes and Hellenic fare.. In Short
Relaxed during the day, the tempo picks up at night when diners arrive en masse and the entertainment begins. Live Bouzouki music, dancing waiters and Greek posters and newspapers adorning the walls comprise the make for a mealtime odyssey. Starters include pita bread with a variety of dipping sauces like hummus, taramasalata and tzatziki. Main courses like oven-roasted lamb and moussaka are also popular. For desserts, there's baklava and parfait.

A reason to drive 50 miles from South OC. I love this place. Any time I visit Sherman Oaks I "make" my host take me here. It's usually very loud when the band gets going but you get used to it. The place gets cramped but it's all part of the atmosphere. Have a good cocktail and yell across your table.

If you are ever in the Laguna Beach area I highly recommend Aegean Cafe....just as good and also has a belly dancer.

Great Taste, Great Fun. My boyfriend was looking for a good Greek restaurant in L. A. since he's from Chicago. The food was great and the place was fun. The service was good. Be sure to order the flaming cheese. If you want to listen to the music and hear the waiters sing, plan to be there after 7 pm. However, that also means it will be crowded. He said it was the kind of place he's been looking for and we plan to go back. We were able to get street parking north of Ventura.

Opaa!. This place has the energy of Greece! The food is great - get the platter to experience a touch of everything. The Chicago pita bread is the best I've ever tasted. I went on a Sunday and there was live music with women Greek dancing. The place is big, but can fill-up pretty quickly.

Great Food, Service, & Atmosphere. Upon walking in, you feel like part of a sm. Greek village. Staff is warm and very attentive.

The food is excellent, I had the pasta with lamb and it is just absolutely wonderful. The wine selection is good and topping off the a-list would be the music and dancing!

Go there, you wont be disappointed!

REMARKABLE. It's rare to find a gem such as this one where the food was great 15 years ago and it's still great today! We went last night and ordered the combination plate and the bleu greek salad. The Spring Lamb was succulent and flavorful, the pasticio and moussaka perfect and delicious. The had tasty strips of moist grilled chicken breast, lots of feta, avocado, and a vinagrette that my companion enjoyed despite a disdain for both vinegar and lemon (it's two main ingredients). Servings were generous. Staff was friendly. Live music and dancing were a nice bonus. We were seated timely. Disappointed by Joe's in Venice and Melisse in Santa Monica, I feel that LA cuisine is not the greatest (or at least not consistent), but I loved this place as much last night as I did 15 years ago! GO GO GO!

Medi-heaven. The first time I set foot in this restaurant, I felt like I was home. From the staff to the proprietor, this restaurant offers an experience to cherish. The food is excellent and the ambience brings a smile to the face. I recommend The Great Greek to anyone who is thinking about Greek. Dance with the waiters.......you'll love it!
