Editorial Review for Jinky's Cafe – by Sandy Masuo

The Scene
Jinky's occupies three adjoining sections of a Valley strip mall, and on weekends all three are packed. But no matter how busy things get, the casual decor, livened up with animation cels from your favorite Saturday morning cartoons, and friendly service preserve a comfy vibe.

The Food
Jinky's motto is "better than breakfast in bed," and although the menu offers a bevy of lunch options, breakfast is definitely where it's at. All things eggy are wondrously good, from fluffy scrambles, omelettes and the Desperado, a hunky burrito packed with eggs, veggies, turkey-chicken chorizo, zesty chilies and cheese, to a dazzling array of pancakes (including wild blueberry, pumpkin and banana-macadamia nut). For French toast fanatics, the only item that counts is the Flaky French Toast, thick slices of egg bread dunked in batter, dipped in honey-nut corn flake crumbs and fried to perfection--it's nirvana on a plate.

I've been here a number of times and it's always good. The best time to go is during the week so it's not too crowded. You might catch a celeb here, but don't worry, it's not huge "be seen" sort of place. Although the service is so-so, the food makes up for it.

Pros: Pancakes, Waffles

Cons: Wait, crowded

A nice casual atmosphere, service and food are good, and they have the BEST iced Vanilla Latte I have ever had!! I try one everywhere I go, and no one else's compares! I always go on a weekday, so I never have to wait for a table.
