good delicious food, terrible service, good iffy service, good breakfast, great meeting place, awful food, awful atmosphere
Incredible Service. Our service was great and the waiter was adorable. Ambiance was romantic and definitely recommended. For the music,,,I would recommend jazz or house and the people were cool. Portions were good.
Best Breakfast and Chili in Town.
Great food, Good sevice, Good ambience. Tried the Chili omelette was out of the world. The ice cream waffle satisfied the sweet tooth craving. Coffee was excellent , they give you a pot of coffee so you don't have to wait for the server to come and refill your cup.
On the whole a very good dining experience.
Breakfast for Lunch & Dinner.
Jinky's never fails to serve up fresh, hot, tasty breakfast dishes that definitely can't be found at your local Denny's or IHOP. With strawberry banana pancakes to die for, and several variations of eggs benedict, Jinky's is a place where breakfast also works for lunch and dinner.
The casual and cozy atmosphere is comprised of mismatched artwork covering the walls, and wooden farm animal figurines placed strategically on counters and window sills. The servers here believe in team work, and you can expect at least three different smiling faces to cross your table with iced green tea refills or an extra side of maple syrup.
Prepare to spend roughly $20.00 here for a well thought out breakfast dish, and maybe even bring a bit more for a platter of pancakes to share. Saturday and Sunday mornings mean waiting at least 30 minutes, but they provide complimentary coffee and water.
Back in college, my friends and I had Jinky's Tuesdays every week at 2:00. We'd order a plate of crispy crinkle-cut cut fries to start, followed by our various breakfast dishes including eggs florentine, a giant breakfast burrito or the Jinky's Nitro scramble.
To sum it up, this is a great meeting place for friends and family to have a delicious meal, with great service. My only qualm is the tight parking lot, which sends most to the neighboring side streets.
Not worth being on best of LA. This place is so avarage. My family has eaten here three times trying to figure out why are so many people here and why the great rating. So why the great rating why so many people? the answer - they are sheep they follow a crowd. but there is nothing great about this place. The Marie Calendars down the street from this place is far better and more creative and cleaner and easier to park at. This place just doesn't really offer anything great - it is just ok and average. No need to go back
A OK. This place is just OK. I have been here several times and I can't say that I am in love with anything they ahve to offer.
Breakfast that fills you up!. I've been here a number of times and it's always good. The best time to go is during the week so it's not too crowded. You might catch a celeb here, but don't worry, it's not huge "be seen" sort of place. Although the service is so-so, the food makes up for it.
Iced Vanilla Lattes!!!. A nice casual atmosphere, service and food are good, and they have the BEST iced Vanilla Latte I have ever had!! I try one everywhere I go, and no one else's compares! I always go on a weekday, so I never have to wait for a table.
Great place, but a bit pricey. Walked here for breakfast on a weekday morning and I seated with no problem. I pulled out the laptop, got my carafe of coffee and food and worked for well over an hour. The food was very good and the coffee kept coming. It looked very busy the Sunday morning I ran by. The only reason I gave 4/5 was due to the prices. I thought they were a bit high ($9 for eggs, sausage and toast and $8 for a bowl of oatmeal), but it could be that I'm a Ohio boy who is used to the cheap food of country life. Either way, I would highly recommend becoming a patron of this place. It was awesome and I'll be back for sure.
After 10 years going... Wonderful People (Staff), and Delicious Food.
I've been going to Jinky's for about 10 years now. I was actually laughing at the 2 obviously resentment motivated reviews categorizing Jinky's food bad???? But worse... saying the service is also bad and UNFRIENDLY !!? This is REALLY not true...
That's why I decided to write this review... I've had the pleasure to be a regular customer there since the previous owner (Gene) and some of the great same staff (waitresses, cooks, manager) still work there... They work incredibly hard and I know for a fact they are happiest when they can run smoothly and please everybody... but as it is in any busy and very successful restaurant, Jinky's gets slammed at times... which may... JUST may, because I've rarely seen it, exacerbate those very special self-entitled customers who demand special treatment while being insulting and derogatory... (?)
So anyway and like I said, anyone who's really been a regular customer can testify that this is a great and experienced staff (mostly handled by the wonderful Jinky girls) who should get triple credit for efficiency, especially on busy weekends... (did you see the awards on the walls?) while still managing to treat you with good conversation, no question humor.. and class. After all I've seen the likes of Alec Badwin, Pink, The Game, the girl from "Married with Children" what's her name?, Tony Braxton, Keifer Sutherland, Jessica Simpson, Flavor Flave, David Hasselhoff, (Justin Timberlake goes to the Sunset location I hear) come back again and again... and recently the new guy from Superman, to name just a few. Love to gorgeous Joanna, Jenniffer, Cynthia, Sara, Wendy, Isabel, Elizabeth and the cool dudes Micky, Jake, Raul, Pedro, Jimmy, Isaac and the rest of the staff... you guys make me feel great... you are tha BOMB! ;-)
