What a great French bistro. Went on a friend's recommendation and was really impressed. Food is very authentic bistro cuisine. Great bread, outstanding escargots, perfect steak au poivre. Service was so genuinely warm and professional. Loved this place! Not in my usual geographic zone but I would make a point of going back. That good.

Understated elegance accents French cuisine at this Valley favorite.. In Short
Mistral oozes elegance and affluence, with dark-wood panels covering the walls and ceiling and chandeliers dripping crystal above the heads of the sophisticated clientele. Service is warm and professional, with occasional air kisses exchanged between servers and patrons. The menu offers straightforward renditions of classic bistro fare, like the chicken Mistral served with Dijon-herb sauce, and duck confit on a bed of mushroom risotto.

Excellent Food, Great service. After reading a couple of reviews online I decide to give this place a try for my birthday. The office took me there for lunch and I have to say we were pleasantly surprised. The decor is very warm with dark woods and chandeliers. I had the Ahi Tune Nicoise salad and it was DELICIOUS. My co-workers had the Poached Salmon salad and the Chicken Breast with Mushrooms and Cream Sauce and all of those were delicious. We got there at 12 and were out of there by 1pm and there were 10 of us in the group. Excellent place. You have to try it believe it. I'm planning on going back for dinner.

Best food and service in the Valley. One of the best in LA.. We eat at Mistral about once a month, and are always blown away by the food and service. The host always seems to remember us, and the owner is always there, which we think is important at a restaurant. The food is just plain great- they bring little croissant-like treats at first, which literally melt in your mouth. The onion soup is top notch, and I am a huge onion soup fan. The fish and chicken dishes- especially the chicken Mistral, are fantastic. I'm not a wine expert by any means, but their wine list is huge and seems to have many great choices. It's really a welcome change from Hollywood.

FANTASTIC. Its been a while since I ate at Mistral, far too long, but they still rock. Beautiful room, smooth perfect service and fantastic food. Best onion soup and fries in town. Foi Gras with apples was a decadent delight. Roast duck was crispy and beautifully presented with chantrell risotto. Trout was delicate and flavourful. Chocolate souflfe for desert was a dream. Well rounded wine list is a bit pricey but by the glass selections and half bottles are available.

Great Bistro. Mistral is one of the best restaurants in the valley. They offer a solid bistro menu with all the standards (escargot, steak au poivre, dijon chicken, etc.), plus a lot of excellent seasonal specials. The staff is attentive and knowledgeable, and particularly helpful if you want help with the extensive wine list. I've been eating there for years, and never had a bad meal.

On weekdays, its usually quiet and romantic, a great place for a date. On weekends, it gets pretty noisy, a great place for dinner with friends.
