Blues Joint. Just a Blues joint. I have seen Johnny A (excellent),Devon Allman (wow),Honeyboy Edwards (the real deal),I got all of them to autograph copys of their cd's after the shows. Fun.Check them out on U tube to see what you missed. You can see cozys website for their calendar.
I LOVE THIS PLACE!.
I've been coming to Cozy's for too many years to remember and LOVE IT!
The new remodel looks awesome especially the new dance floor, plasma's and leather couches. They have the coolest staff around and beautiful waitresses (WOW)!! Everything on the menu is very good, but I must say I can't get enough of the fried Catfish. Killer!!!
'A' rated kitchen as long as I've been coming there. Drinks are strong and they always have a great selection of beers on tap. I've seen Slash perform there, Roger Daltrey performed 3 Who songs (!!!), Bonnie Raitt on New Years Eve, Kenny Wayne Sheppard, Bruce Willis, Jimmie Vaughan, Taj Mahal, Jim Belushi, Johnny Lang have all performed there and too many more to mention. I guess that's why I'm a regular there. Highly recommended if you like to go to a place that has great a great vibe, food and music (Blues, R&B, Soul, Rock, D.J.'s & Reggae). You can't find a place like this in Hollywood that's for sure!
Cozy's Not So Cozy. My husband and I stopped in to order food and drinks and to hear some music for his birthday. Never again. We came in and sat at our table for a while before anyone came by to serve us. I wasn't sure a server had seen us come in so after about 20 minutes I asked the owner/manager if a server could stop by our table. He acted as if he didn't like this even though I was very polite. Shortly after our server arrived and said before we can get our food she'd need our credit card number in advance "Because some people skip out before paying the tab". How outrageous. I guess we didn't look hip or rich enough for this dive. We go to many restaurants and bars and have never been insulted like that and we ALWAYS pay the bill and leave a generous tip. Needless to say, I don't recommend it and we will never ever go to this snooty snotty dive again.
make/shift. What is this place? Very disappointed...The best thing about this place is the door man, at least he was cool. NO atmosphere, NO vibe and bands most hate 2 play there because the sound is bad! I have no problem recommending you go to Cafe' Boogaloo in Hermosa Beach or Harvelle's in Santa Monica if you want a real Blues joint.
Live Band Karaoke.
"Live Band Karaoke" is currently being performed weekly in the San Fernando Valley by the Top 40 cover band O FeeL YA every Sunday night at The Studio Suite located at 4823 Whitsett Av. Studio City Ca. 91423 (818) 753-8297
And at Paladino's located at 6101 Reseda Blvd. Tarzana, corner of Oxnard CA 91335 (818) 342-1563
HORRIBLE....... Bad food, bad service, bad music! Why bother? This place has seen better days and the management is out of touch with today! I paid my money and waited 3 hours for the band to come on. They kept assuring that the music would start soon. As they began to play I had to leave...I WAITED 3 HOURS Thought it fair they refund my music charge. They wouldn't give it.
Good I guess if you are over 40. My friend and I were looking for a cool place to sit and have a drink on a Thursday night that wasn't too far from where we were. Cozy's looked ok from the outside but when we went inside- it felt like we walked into a geriatric bar. Everyone there was old and they all seemed to be some kind of starving musician. (they had to be starving... there is no way their talent could make them any money!) Many of them would break into song at the drop of a hat. (and no they didn't work there or were part of some entertainment... it was actually pretty funny because they would start singing out of nowhere) The drinks were over-priced considering the bar was kind of a hole in the wall- $19 for a Grey Goose Tonic and a Grey Goose RedBull. Granted it is a good place to sit and talk.... if an old drunk lady doesn't feel compelled to sing to your friend while you leave to the restroom! Ha ha. I would imagine that this place is probably better on a Friday or Saturday night... and for an older crowd... 45 and up.
Imitation. This place is cool -- if you like hanging out with dull old people and paying out the ass for drinks while listening to fake blues music. This place has valley written all over. Costs like $15 to get in the door, too.
Cozy-up. I've been turning friends on to Cozy's for 6-7 years. The Blues are great at this hole in the wall. National acts and great local bands too. But don't go. There isn't enough room for me and you at the same time.
