Fruity drinks, romantic fire pits and a sparkling view of the city have helped make this Burbank place a go-to date spot for years.

amazing view. The only reason I go to Castaway is the view, the food is okay. Actually its better then most places, but for the cost it really isn't worth it..

The view is amazing, especially at night when you can see part of Downtown lit up and most/all of Burbank. And if you're outside they have fire pits right on the deck near the edge of the 'cliff' its on over the golf course/Forrest park.

Some of the staff are nice, some look just plain miserable.

Relaxing at The Castaway. I have been at the Castaway few times. They valet is okay, just need to wait a little bit longer. However, the buffet is great at lunch. The food is fresh, I do really liked the steak. They have desert as well. To be honest the main reason I go to the Castaway is the view. They have great view that you can sit and relax. You can see the LA Downtown as well, the mountains and there are golfing course at the bottom of the restaurant.

Amazing view & food. I have been to tons of buffets and unlimited mimosas for Sunday Brunch but this restaurant by far is the best! Amazing view, you can sit outside or next to the window. The service is terrific, everyone is very attentive and then food quality is alot better than the ones Ive been too which remain nameless lol. I first went back in March for a brunch for my friends birthday and decided I would go back this past Sunday for my own birthday! I had a blast!! I hear they have Martini Mondays, might have to look into that! =)

A Par Above the Rest. Exquisite food, service, ambiance...and then some. For anyone interested in enjoying an exquisite dining experience, the Castaway is a MUST EXPERIENCE!!!

For starters, the service was EXCEPTIONAL! The restaurant Manager, Luis Martin Del Campo ensured that my sister's 30th Service Anniversary with AT&T Celebration would go off without a hitch...and he exceeded our expectations. And the food, what can I say...SENSATIONAL!!! MY COMPLIMENTS TO THE CHEF AND TO OUR EXCELLENT HEAD SERVER, A.J.

Anyone interested in celebrating any occasion needs to consider this venue...Great Service, Food, View....A MUST for anyone wanting to experience A GREAT TIME!

Food Poisoning, mgr didn't call back. Terrible...3 out of the 5 people in our party eating Sunday brunch ate the Sushi and got terribly ill. My boyfriend called Castaway Tuesday to make a formal complaint and was told by the staff on duty they could not do anything about it. The only could refer him to the lead manager MARK and he would follow up on Wed. Wed came by no call,...Thurs came by, no call. So we tried again Thurs night and talked w/ Rushad. He assured me that MARK would call back on Friday. Currently waiting for MARK to call... Terrible terrible terrible...avoid!!!

worst service ever. If you are a woman, and you go alone, you will not be noticed. YOu might have to go inside to the bar to get service.

If you sit alone outside, by yourself, waiting for your friends to arrive, you won't get noticed.

the waiters and waitresses will see you, and even give a quick look, but, no one will approach to take your order.

If they do walk by, and you do raise your hand, or you do give them an eye contact, you will get this from them, "Do You Need Anything?"

Now, is that a question to ask a customer at a restaurant?

Even the folks sitting next to us, were having a hard time flagging down a waitress.

There are lots of them, don't get me wrong, they are all congragated inside at the end of the bar.

I am not sure who is interviewing the help being hired, or if they are giving them training.

But, I would imagine, they work and make money mostly on tips.

I only tipped my bartender, because that is where I went to get my service.

Even the boy who brought my food outside, had no manners. When I asked him to place my food elsewhere, because i saw some aunts crawling where he was going to place my food, it is as if I was talking to a wall....He paid no attention to the work "aunts",,,,

don't go there.

you will be loosing out on your money.

Food poisoning anyone?. I would have given NO stars, but a rating is required.

Quick overview: Mold all over our food, extremely salty everything, staff was loud and unprofessional as they carried out their work and held conversations with each other in front of guests that should have been kept private (all evening), obstructed view of LA and sunset because of dirty windows and trees. Very pricey for disgunstingly poor quality food.

Full Review: Went here yesterday (3/9/10) and was terribly disappointed. Aside from the dirty windows that prevented the view that we came for in the first place, the seat cushions were stained, the plates at the salad bar seemed like they had been dipped in water and then just put right back out again.

The salad bar produce was old, wilted lettuce, rubbery cucumbers, and salad dressings that looked like they had been out for days.

Our food was extremely salty from the appetizers to the entrees. We sent our prime rib and mashed potatoes back and asked for them to be cooked without salt. Instead of making a fresh plate, they served from the same batches of potatoes and cut of meat they already had prepared (our server even told us so and then asked if it was any better, wtf?. He was nice enough to change our order to the salmon, but by then (1 hour and a half later) I didn't event want to eat.

The final straw was when our dessert came (cheesecake), It had mold all over the top. Our waiter confirmed that it was mold, and notified the manager (who rightly comped our entire meal - if you could call it that). Two hours later, I left hungry and completely grossed out. My boyfriend and I were sick all night, and still feeling it this morning.

Now I see why this place had all of 5 tables full at sunset, which should be the height of their business.

Where's the pride of ownership?
