Awesome Food. Our food came out on time and was prepared just right. I would recommend this place to a hungry person the portions are huge! Service as ok but the food made up for it! I

meh - completely & utterly meh. I'd give it one star, but that's a little harsh. It's not terrible, it's just sorta...there. I dunno. My lunching buddy & I wrote a giant review & posted some pics of it on our totally unprofessional blog. If you feel like checking it out, go here: www.burbankbites.blogspot. com/

Long story short though, Lancers isn't bad...it's just not good.

Great Specials, Straightforward Coffee Shop Food. Forget what other reviewers have said. Lancers is a good value, especially if you order the specials. They have a very good broasted chicken with soup, salad and dessert for 7.49 on Mondays, and two steak nights: Ribeye on Wed. and choice of New York or T-bone on Saturday, very reasonably priced. Steaks are tasty and cooked to order reasonably accurately. (Superior to Norm's, which specializes in steak). Staff is friendly and attentive. Far superior to chain coffee shops, and for my money a better bet than Conrad's, Tally Rand, or Coral, which are all nearby similar restaurants. Menu isn't all that extensive. Go for the specials, they're the best value.

Mediocre food at not-so-cheap prices.. Normally, you're safe if you follow the elderly to their secret eatin' spots -- these people are on a "fixed income" and they tend to get pickier with age. Unfortunately, my friends and I used this logic to get us into Lancers. I ordered the veal parmigiana with garlic toast and a side salad. In a word, everything was BLAND. Their "salad" was little more than a plate of iceberg lettuce with ranch, accompanied with a basket of saltine crackers. No tomatoes, no onion, no purple cabbage, no shredded carrots. The garlic toast was a slice of oval white bread, yellowed with melted butter and a nearly undetectable amount of garlic. The veal parmigiana's sauce tasted like salty ketchup with ground beef. I can think of several other places my ten bucks would've been better spent...

Older Crowd. This seems to be an ever popular date spot for the over 50 crowd, people whose taste in restaurants was defined 30 years ago and hasn't changed since. Translation: you'll pay way too much money for a meat and potatoes dish that isn't worth it.
