Great for Drinks!. I had hesitations, but was quickly shocked. We had barely no waiting, with menus stationed at our table. Good restaurant for drinks, food, and burgers. I enjoyed an appetizer of tender and yummy "Tiki Tenders" or chicken strips and some endless fries. Yum!

Wow...What a Burger!!!. You must go to Islands in Burbank. It is by far the best burger in LA! Get a Hawaiian Burger and fries and you are in Paradise. Always fast and friendly service with great atmosphere. The burgers are juicy and fries are the best! Highly recommended!

Good burgers, great atmosphere. I don't know what is with this Jerry guy, who in his review, compared these burgers with Jack in the Box?? Obviously he doesn't know a thing about burgers. Why is there a wait to get a table at this establishment? Because people know the food is good, the restaurant is consistantly busy because of it and people will wait for a good meal! I've eaten here for a number of years with my family and with friends, and at other locations before the Burbank store opened. All the people I have dined here with have always been satisfied with both the service and the food. Give it a try and judge for yourself and meanwhile, let Jerry go eat at Jack in the Box, just one more person I won't have to wait in line behind to get a meal here.

ISLAND VACATION!. Service is by far the best at the location in Burbank. I've been to several Islands locations and the service varies but the food is always great - with the exception of the french fries. The french fries are dry - IMO - and the burgers are not only cooked to perfection but seasoned just right. I would avoid the tacos and anyone in love with BLT's would love what they have to offer - although it might be heavy on the bacon side.

Fruit Punchdrink is a definite plus!

If Gilligan opened a burger joint, this would be it.. The Scene
With thatched umbrellas, photos of crashing waves, stuffed toucans and a soundtrack of twangy '60s surf-rock, it doesn't take a genius to figure out this chain's theme. Yep, it's beach, burgers and plenty of kitsch. The jovial atmosphere and service (not to mention a full-service bar) lures lunching business folk, beer-drinking college students and families with food-throwing toddlers.

The Food
Like the decor, the menu is a no-brainer--sandwiches, salads, fries and burgers. Served in a basket with fork and knife, thick beef patties come grilled to order with lettuce, tomato and any variety of extras. For a lighter bite, try one of the soft tacos. Filled with either fish or chicken, the wraps are inauthentic, but tasty. Yaki tacos are stuffed with teriyaki chicken, chives, pineapple and jack cheese. Whatever you order, don't forget the fries. These hand-cut, super-crispy sticks are addicting, especially when dipped in creamy ranch dressing.

Bad Service. The service is horrible. It took the server 20 minutes to come back with just soda. All my party ordered where salads which apperently take half an hour to make. All this on during lunch on a weekday! The restaurant was not crowded at all so it shouldn't be an understaffing problem. The Islands chain is good but the Burbank location is bad. Only come here if you have time to waste.

Still one of my faves.. but getting pricey!. Great chain restaurant, the Burbank location features some of the friendliest and most attentive servers, and meals are served promptly. Parking at this location can be a challenge on weekends though. Over the past year, two of my favorite menu items were eliminated or substantially reworked (bring back the Cabo soft tacos -- the Cabo Loco is too bland!), and menu prices have crept up about $1 to $1.50 per entree on average -- my Yaki tacos have gone from $6.50 to almost $8.

Good stuff. Islands is a fun place, with good margaritas and a relaxed atmosphere. The chips and salsa are good, and the burgers are fantastic. Its an easy spot to kill an hour before a movie, and a fun one at that.

Feel sorry for Gilligan. I had high hopes for this place after all the rave reviews I've heard. But when I finally got to experience Islands. I had to wait 30 minutes just to be seated to eat a hamburger that I couldv'e got at a local jack-in-the-box. Dont get me wrong the burger isnt horrific. But its nothing to jump for joy over. The fries were a nice touch due to the fact that they leave the skins on. This is basically a good place to dine if your with a humoungous group of people. If its just 1 or 2 of you and you have a craving for a burger. Just go fastfood. The table arraingment is also another thing to dawn on. Very awkward. At Times you could be facing an entirely different party than yours. All in All islands left my stomach feeling like a castaway!

Gotta love this greasy spoon.... The fries here are out of this world -- especially good with a side of ranch. Love the burgers!
