Chili Relleno to die for...

I rarely come into Burbank, but when I do, my only stop for lunch is El Mexicano Inn. On my first visit I ordered the Friday special which included a chili relleno, cheese enchilada, rice and beans. The price was just slightly over $5.00.

I enjoyed my lunch on the premises and WOW, each and every bite was excellent! It was so good, that I went back inside and made it a point to tell the employee how great it was and that next time I was in Burbank, that I would stop in.

When that next visit arrived, I did indeed stop in and in seeing me the employee was really surprised because I made sure to tell him how far I had traveled to get there.

Being a Mexican and loving Mexican food, my quest in life is to find the perfect chili relleno. This place is it!

REAL mexican food

I come from a border town 3 1/2 hours South of Burbank, and out of all the mexican restaurants in Los Angeles county, this one makes me feel at home. Awesome service, food, and very clean. The atmosphere was also pretty cool with all the murals....check out the carne asada burrito and guacamole :).

Like Family

El Mexicano is a great place to get some homestyle Mexican food quickly. There are only 4 employees and they seem to all be family. After going there a few times, they know my order. I always get the two taco dinner with Machaca beef. Machaca is a stewed beef with peppers and onions. The tacos melt in your mouth. The dinner plate comes with beans and rice. The rice tastes as though it is cooked in chicken broth and is very flavorfull. Drinks are gigantic.

On Monday the two taco dinner is only about $5 because it is the special. Other days, it's not much more. The chili colorado burrito is also delicious.
