Tips for Fry's Electronics

It would be nice to carry replacement styluses for the Wacom tablets, since they break, get lost, and damaged.

Warning!!!!! don't buy a service contract with Fry's. Fry's tech dept managers are trained to work around your defected parts and charge you 69.00 fee for testing.......should they find nothing wrong with your product, don't be a sucker. They don't tell you about the secret fee when you purchase the service contract. Take it from me, they are trained to make money from your product either-way-don't let them sucker you into a service contract, most good products last longer than 8 years.

Great Selection..... Great stuff, good selection but you basically have to know what your looking for to shop here. The sales rep are always zipping around so you have to catch them to make them help you. They are nice and they will help. Its catching them to do so that makes me give them 4 stars and not 5.

Great selection. I like Fry's because it has such a large selection of electronics and software in stock. I like to look at what I am buying. I also like to be able to go to the store that I bought it to return it.

Customer Service via Telephone = BS. I've called Fry's 6 times this morning. They've answered three out of that 6. Twice I was transferred to nothing but answerless rings (until the connection magically disconnected) and now I've been on hold for 10 minutes +. This all adds up to about 52 minutes and counting - Question still un-answered. Somebody shoot me!

Bad service. Weak customer service...

by aaron at Citysearch

I've been going to Fry's for 2 years and I've learned one thing. Unless you already know exactly what you want and you've checked to see they have the best price, don't waste your time. The poor customer service and long lines aren't worth it. If you need to ask for help or suggestions, this is not the place. Save yourself frustration and do your research somewhere else. They do have good sales and I still go to get a good deal occasionally. Otherwise, skip this joint. especially, computer take so long too return. watse your time.

With more than 50,000 electronic items in each store, this high-tech superstore offers one-stop shopping and service for professionals and hobbyists.. In Short
Family-founded in the heart of Silicon Valley in 1985, Fry's has become a staple for technophiles in the Western U.S. Keeping up with the latest technological trends, it offers quality computer hardware and software, audio and video equipment and telecommunication products. Each store, which range in size from 50,000 to 180,000 square feet, decorates the aisles with its own unique theme--from Alice in Wonderland to Atlantis--making every shopping trip a fun experience.

The self-serve gas station of electronics. Fry's is little more than a warehouse chock full of your electronics needs and wants. The prices and selection can be pretty special, and it really helps to check circulars to see what deals they're pushing at the time. I highly recommend coming in with your homework done, as customer service is chaotic and frustrating. Don't bother with the warranty, because you NEVER want to deal with their customer service and repair division, which is just a run-around distributor, specializing in excuses.

Like so many other shopping experiences, you can fight the masses, punish yourself, and save a few dollars OR you can spend a little extra cash and keep the Advil in the bottle, where it belongs.

Never Again!!!. I went to Fry's because I had a problem with my new digital camera. I showed them what was wrong with my camera, and left it there. Once I got it back, I noticed it wasn't charging....the battery was missing. I called Fry's and they said they aren't responsible for "extras" with my camera. Worse, I asked to speak with a manager, and they put me on hold for 30 minutes! When I called the customer service department back, there was no answer! I even stopped by there to talk to someone and they told me there was no manager there at the time. I have called back many times, and just get the "run-around." Because of their stupidity, I have to buy another battery for my camera! They are very expensive! Needless to say, I will NOT be buying it at Fry's. FRY'S IS NOT WORTH THE TROUBLE!!!!
