incredible chips, incredible quality fish, perfect place, equally good bridie, recommended schmidwicks, crispy super, big screen
Been eating here for years!. Lovely, quaint, and family owned. What a terrific place. I believe Ozzy ate here too!
LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT !!!!!!. My favorite restaurant. I go there all the time. The fish n chips are the best. Great bangers, Shepherds Pie, and the Sticky Toffee Pudding is to die for. They have a piano player most Friday nights, and live bands on Saturday nights. Never have to wait for a table, and they take your drink order right away. The service is fast and always friendly. They have just updated the interior and added new booths. Oh, and the draft beer selection is excellent. This place is the best kept secret I just couldn't keep any longer. A must for all who love a GREAT!!! Pub!!!
it's a Brit pub--don't be fooled by that one review. Take it from a real Brit (not sure what pub in the UK the other guy who posted) but the decor isn't American, unless you consider a portrait of the Queen an piece of American decor. The only difference I noticed? It was brighter than a pub and had a big screen. Course I've been to several pubs in the UK where real football (soccer) was being shown on a big tv. it's a family atmosphere...perhaps that other guy was looking for a club or someone with an accent? OH and I've never had a perfect Yorkshire pudding in most pubs in the UK cause they are pubs.....
Not at all Authentic. After reading great reviews on this site, I thought this would be the perfect place to get a traditional English Sunday roast. I was wrong! Clearly the owners of this place are not British, actually, I don't think they've even left the US! This place would only pass as a English Pub if the customers have never been to England or have any real pub reference. Visually, it's a big open area with a bar - not at all like a pub. The decor was mismatched with some Scottish & American decor and the food was not English. If they can't get a yorkshire pudding right (overcooked & hard as a rock), I hate to see how they make a shepherd's pie! Maybe this has to do with who's cooking on Sundays, but I doubt it. And before anyone feels offended by this post, it's coming from a Brit that has been in a few pubs in their lifetime!
Great Food!. The fish & chips are AMAZING and comes in to a VERY close 2nd to the fish & chips at Brits in Pasadena. Super crispy outside and tender and flavorful inside. We also had the bridie & chips which was equally good, as was the split pea soup.
Good Food, Good Beer, Good Vibe. I've been to Buchanan Arms on many occassions, sampling the varieity of delicious English fare they serve and to this day I have not found anything that did not taste spectacular! I recommended a "Schmidwicks" (Irish ale) on tap with either Steak, Fish & Chips, Sheperds Pie or any of their other delicious options. Very reasonably priced...family owned and operated...a true find in the hustle and bustle of what is becoming Burbank, California.
Editorial Review. Large British pub offers full menu of across-the-Atlantic classics like bangers and mash, fish and chips, Scottish pie.
Incredible Fish and chips. This place has really incredible fish and chips. I was very satisified with the food. I liked the fact that the fish was really fresh and the chips were not at all stale.
Best Fish & Chips in the LA area. These people use the best quality fish when making their fish and chips. A great selection of beer. What else do you need?
