helpful staff, usually really reasonable other prices, best place, great animals, terrible employees, wonderful pet store, awful store
BEST PLACE AROUND!!!.
This place is AMAZING!! The girl who helped me knew exacually what I was talking about and was there for all my animal needs. I will ONLY be shopping here from now on. The prices are good and the staff is very helpful. Tell your friends to go here it is worth it. And the animals there are so very cute!!!
Support your local stores!!! It will pay off =)
Helpful service with GREAT prices. I have been shopping at Pet Plaza for about 3 years now and I couldn't disagree more with the negative reviews written. I discovered the store when I was searching for better prices on Frontline for my pets. I used to have a large dog (80# rottweiler) and I have 3 cats. I was paying 60 bucks for a 3 month supply at Petco!!! I heard through a friend that Pet Plaza had really good prices so I decided to check it out. A box for my dog was only $38.00!! And a box for my cats is only $32, which is awesome because 1 box only lasts me one month. I'm saving a fortune! Their other prices are usually really reasonable as well, and they have the friendliest staff. They're always really helpful and they know so much!! They also usually have really good coupons available to print out on the money mailer website. Check it out for yourself...I would NEVER choose Petco over this store! (Or the dirty Pet Mania, either!!)
A+ PET STORE AND WONDERFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE!.
i totally support all the mom and pop shops in the area, so I do shop at BPP! And you know what....i don't agree at all with the 2 first reviews! Everytime I walk in the door i hear, "Hello, do you need help finding anything?" And you know what, I have observed when other people walk in too, and they say the same thing for everyone, but from what I've seen alot of people are off in there own little world and don't pay attention to the girls greeting them! Also, any time I've had a question about a product or food, they are more than willing to educate me and guess what? THEY DO KNOW A LOT ABOUT THE PET INDUSTRY! Also, so what if they like to talk, they talk to me all the time and ask how my animals are! Another thing, why does age matter? I personally think the flipping burgers comment was alittle out of line! I give them a lot of credit for hiring "HIGH SCHOOL" kids (which btw, i think only 2 of the girls that work there are in High school still, the rest are over 18 at least) because at least they are giving kids a chance to work in other places then burger joints! Anoth issue that really upsets me, if you had them not accept your coupon, or they charged you more then you wanted to pay from another price online.....YOU SHOULD HAVE TAKEN YOUR RECEIPT IN AND SHOWED IT TO THE GIRLS AND HAD IT CORRECTED OR TALKED TO THE MANAGER OR JUST RETURNED IT! And last but not least, I ALSO know for a fact that the store cat, Kobe,is declawed as well. He honestly couldn't have scratched your puppy! So sorry!
So in conclusion, I love this store and recommend all my friends to this store and have never had anyone complain!
WONDERFUL PET STORE!!.
I have been shopping at this store for 8 years and have never had a problem. The previous reviews must have been having a bad day. The staff at Burbank Pet Plaza is always more than willing to help me. They take GREAT care of there animals and are wonderful to my 2 dogs who I bring in with me all the time.
As for the previous review...The store cat Kobe (big black cat) could not have scratched her small dog because I know for a fact he doesn't have front claws. How can the cat scratch the dog when he has no claws??? That woman just wanted something to complain about.
All of my friends go to this store too and they love it. Not a single one has had anything bad to say about this store. You should go in a see for yourself.
Horrible customer service and no selection.
I agree with the other reviewer completely. I tried shopping here because I like to avoid chains but this place was an absolute nightmare. On the most basic level, noone greeted me or offered me any help finding anything and the selection was terrible. When I finally found what I was looking for I realized they were charging twice as much for it as the price I found online for the exact same product.
However, the thing that really upset me about this store was that I came in with my puppy- who is six pounds, quiet and sweet. I set him down on the ground to look at something and within seconds a large black cat had jumped on him and was scratching him. Fortunately I picked him up before he was hurt but I was appalled by the staff's lack of care. In fact, they laughed!
If I am going to pay extra for things I would much rather shop in an adorable store with some atmosphere and nice staff like Maxwell Dog in Studio City or Pet Mania in Burbank. I will never go back to this awful store.
Employees are terrible, this store run by teenangers is a joke, no help what so ever :-(.
I always try to suppot local independent pet stores (instead of giong to Petco or Petsmart). Because Burbank Pet Plaza is the closest to me, I've been going there to give them my business. But seriously, this place is a JOKE! When you walk in, first thing you hear are the girls behind the register passing time by talking and gossiping to each other, sometime about customers, their personal life, or other people. They rarely greet or aknowledge the customers that walk in. AND THEY NEVER ASK IF THEY CAN HELP YOU WITH ANYTHING. The teenage girls look like they really don't care to be there. The mood in the store is always one of apathy, No smiles, no friendliness, just stares. I could only imagine how the poor animals are neglected at this store, so sad.
My last transaction at Burbank Pet Plaza was the 'straw on the camel's back". A cashier was talking to another employee about her aunt's dog, and it got lost and her aunt bought it from Pet Love, and this and that and... I just started getting agravated and tried to pick my items and get out of the store fast. So I picked out a dog treat that had coupon taped to the bag (no biggy, just 50 cents), When I got home, the cashier didn't bother to take the coupon and didn't give me my 50 cent off. And I just thought, "this pet store employees seriously dense and stupid who just don't care and have no comprehension of what customer service is?! I've started going to Petco now, sometiems shop online, and even go to a pet store in Los Feliz by my friend's house. I'm much happier now when I have to buy dog food/cat food for my 3 DOG AND 2 CATS. So if the store owner is reading this... you may want to consider paying a higher wage and highering better employees to train them the right way. Stay away from teeangers who could flip burgers down the street. YOU ARE SERIOUSLY LOOSING CUSTOMERS!
