What People Are Saying About Sitton North Hollywood Diner

In Short – Two life-sized waiter statues greet patrons at the entranceway while inside, patterned brick walls are largely obscured by eight-by-10 studio stills (including a signed photo from a "Terminator"-era Arnold). Low lighting sets this place apart from the typically bright diner. At breakfast, fare like meaty pork chops with eggs and hash browns and corned beef hash with eggs sit alongside omelettes and pancakes. Other options include deli sandwiches, sirloin steak, grilled fish, veal and salads.

Needs a Food Make Over
by jmreview
The food was very bland. The salad arrived, just iceberg lettuce, I ordered Italian dressing; I think I got a watered down vinaigrette. Before I took two bites from the salad the entree arrived, pork chops, they were over cooked and unseasoned, and the mashed potatoes had no seasoning. The theme here is no flavor, no seasoning. It is not good Diner Food. I would skip this place.
AVOID AT ALL COST

I was just looking for a chill local place, to have dinner with my Mom, who was in town for a night. Had I known how displease we would be when we left, I would have never gone. The waitress was sort of snobby and rude; she couldn't remember to ask soup/salad, side, etc, as she took the order; she would turn her back and start walking away while you were trying to ask her something; she said let me fill your waters 6 times before she did it(which was as we were leaving). The food was a disgrace to cooking, the best part of the meal was the salad. Appetizer - onion rings - over cooked, tasted like fryer oil (waitress didn't ask if we wanted any ketchup or sauce); salad - huge for being part of a dinner, had about 8 servings of dressing on it, to the point where it was ranch overload; main course - MY chicken fried steak - a little burnt, mediocre in taste, ty for the decent COUNTRY gravy and mash potatoes, side vegetables were over steamed, mushy, and had NO flavor - Mom's Salmon Fillet - This was the WORSE part of the meal - the salmon fillet was pan fried at too high a heat for too long, it was closer to salon jerky, utterly disgusting, no gravy on the mash potatoes (luckily) and the veggies were over cooked too. We got a side of brown gravy, which was so horrible that anyone in their right mind wouldn't even serve or call that gravy. Mom tried it before dousing her mach, and we sent it back; tasted like tomatoes, salt, and starch... wtf. The waitress "comped" the Salmon plate, the proceeded to try and charge us for it in the total of the bill.
And to top it off, we both now have the runs.(if ya know what i mean)

Charming and retro-fabulous
by Beebee7
This diner is charming, has an old-Hollywood retro-feel and is great for a late-night "after-the-bars-close-down" experience.
Whether you want coffee n' pie or a hearty Monte Christo sandwich, this place satisfies. I love their tapioca pudding.
There's something for EVERYONE, even vegans. The servers have warm and caring personalities and service is usually prompt.
The people that claim they've gotten sick, must've been rude and/or unruly. Who knows...Maybe the resident ghosts put a lil somethin' special in their food....
- Pros: friendly servers, good old-school diner-style food
SITTONS RULES!!!
by bettycrocker0459
Hellooooo... people who have responded on here don't get it. THIS IS A DIVE DINER. You know... like a dive bar? Except a diner. What on earth are you expecting?
Sittons is the most fantastic place to go & hang out, get sober, discuss a screenplay, get some grub & JUST BE. There's absolutely nothing pretentious about it. The waitresses don't give a rip and the people look like they've been sitting in their chairs for about 300 years.
I've been going there for over 7 years now and I've never once experienced bad food. If you're a regular & you tip well, they remember. This isn't for Beverly Hills types... it's for real people that just want to eat & be left alone. Working class people that get it. You treat them with respect, they treat you with respect. But you've got to earn it.
And for the dude that got sick 20 minutes in... you can't get any kind of food sickness after 20 minutes. Go call a doctor. He'll tell you the same thing.
Sittons is my home away from home. And if that makes me white trash, then AWESOME! More fries with ranch for me...
- Pros: Good food, decent prices
Sittons: Thanks for the sits...
by Buduki
That's it. I'm done with this place.
After many meals at this place, I have finally opted for a better establishment. The final straw: the last 2 times I ate here, I spent more time in the bathroom than actually eating.
And I wish I could say it was just me but my friends felt the same.
So Sittons... thanks for the sits...
