Stomach Flu..ehhh. I ordered 2 hard shell beef taco's and it seemed to be good at the moment. Immediate got sick after and had the stomach flu. It put me out for a week. I wish I hadn't eaten there.

Authentic Mex/American A rating and Great!. Hey guys and gals! I just had my first Soft taco with flour tortilla, hard taco and cup of rice from here. I'm a native Californian and that makes me qualified to speak for this food! It's great. I've never had rice so good. Comes with green sauce and cheese. The tacos had plenty of meat and the shells were fresh! It's a taco stand, not a gourmet restaurant kids! I love it!

It's all about expectations - this is Gringo-Mex Fast Food. Hey - don't be shocked and disappointed that this place in not 'authentic Mexican' and has no 'carne asada!' The name is HENRY'S, not JOSE'S for the love of jalapeno. Love this place for what it is - GRINGO-MEX FAST FOOD. And for what it is, it is wonderful. If Taco Bell is McDonald's, then Henry's is In & Out - although Henry's is not a chain - there's just the one (and by the way, Taco Bell - inventor of the pre-fab taco shell - Dell Taco, McDonald's and In & Out are all Southern California creations). Like In & Out, it has just a few menu items, done really well. And yes, with Ground Beef! Their taco sauce is great too. I like the tacos and burritos - but my favorite is the Taco Burger. This 'Taco on a Bun' is great (yes - before they started 'thinking out of the bun' Taco Bell used to have a Taco Burger too - the 'Bell Beefer'). I love authentic Mexican - but but this old school fast gringo mex has its place (in my heart and stomach). - SG

Always need my Henry's fix. Yeah, they could add more items to the menu or fancy things up a bit but there is something so deliciously addicting about the food here, why change a thing? I've been eating at Henry's for close to 30 years and it always satisfies. It's the first place I head to when I've been out of town for awhile. Love it!!

bad mexican. these people should go to jail. this is bad mexican. stupid cool sign, makes it look like some great find

what a joke. when i go to a crapper place like this, i want a big fat burrito with a lot of shredded cheddar, great, tasty beans, and some carne asada. this place has none of the above. ground beef only, nasty, dark, thick, spicy refried beans, and a pinch of cheese. boooo!!!

the taco was pretty crappy too, seriously, del taco/taco bell.. much better

Nasty Frozen Burritos Anyone?. I love Mexican food and was excited to try Henry's because it looks like a good hole in the wall authentic mexican food joint. YUCK! The burritos were really small and it truly tasted like your typical frozen burritos from the grocery store. You know that weird taste that generic beans from the can have? Bingo! This was not authentic in the least! After 2 bites my husband and I threw them away and headed for Del Taco as a BETTER alternative!! That should be your clue! NOT GOOD! If you have been going here since you were a kid, one suggestion... get out of studio city more often! Plus, the service was rude, aloof, and annoyed. If you want that great San Diego Alberto's-type experience, styrofoam cups, etc, maybe try Benitos in LA, or drive south.

The Taco Inspector strikes AGAIN!. Hey again...it's The Taco Inspector back one mo' time for another Taco Tuesday review...this time, Henry's.

I loved Henry's old-school atmosphere, but must admit, I was thrown a curve ball when I discovered gorund meat was the only beef on the menu--yup, no carne asada here. Someone shoulda told me!

That aside, Henry's got a good taco. As ground beet tacos go, these were really good. The hot sauce was good, and the cheese and toppings were ample.

What really makes Henry's is the outdoor setting and the vintage vibe.

We recorded our "Taco Tuesday" meal at Henry's and you can see my VIDEO REVIEW at The Taco Review dot com

Too much hype! Over-priced Taco Bell. My friend and I just ate there for the first time and last time. We always look for good tasting Mexican food places. The portions are Taco Bell size. A Taco is $2.40 and the skimpy burrito was $2.80. I was looking for a grande burrito, but the menu only has beef for meat. No Carnitas, Pollo or Carne Asada. A disappointment. My order was 3 tacos and 1 combo burrito, $10. I would have settled for a $10 burrito that was great. El Tapeyac has that and it's not even $10.

Yum yum yum yum!. when i want to treat myself to delicious greasy food, i go to henry's. perhaps some of it's charm comes from the fact that i've been going to henry's since i was a kid, but still - this stuff is good. don't go to henry's with some notion you're going to get gourmet mexican food in a hip atmosphere, you'll just let yourself down. go to henry's with a friend, order some tacos and some beans and rice, sit at the wooden table, carve your names into the table, and just hang out.

Best Tacos and Burritos. Anywhere.. I love Henry's Tacos more than any other mexican food, hands down -- and I love Mexican food. It's the sauce I think. It isn't a fancy mexican restaurant, but I'd choose Henry's over Casa Vega (my favorite sit-down mexican food) most any day. I just returned home from 12 days in Tuscany, and the first thing I want to eat today is Henry's Tacos. That's why I'm writing a review here, because I needed to see what time they open!
