Traditional American mini-chain serves comfort food in a retro atmosphere.. In Short
Oversized mahogany booths, a black-and-white tile floor and vintage photographs add up to a '40s chic experience. Straightforward starters include popcorn shrimp, quesadillas and a host of salad choices. Entrees are more stick-to-your-ribs fare, like the signature flaky chicken pot pie and a mushroom-topped meat loaf with mashed potatoes and broccoli on the side. Down-home desserts include strawberry shortcake and apple pie.

Great food in a pleasant atmosphere.. I went on a Friday - which was pretty easy to get reservations for. We sat outside on their patio which could have the potential to be too noisy (it's on the corner of Laurel Canyon and Ventura) but wasn't. The food was great, their signature skirt steak was prepared as requested and tender and juicy. My only complaint would be that they're kind of pricey. For 2 people with no appetizer and only 2 glasses of wine the bill was nearly $100 with tip.

Great Customer Service, Great Food. The food at this place is delicious, always. There are many items on the menu that I get on a regular basis. Though, I'm writing mostly about how wonderful the customer service is at this particular location. The host was very friendly and seated us promptly. And our waitress, Jenn K., was not only beautiful and courteous, but a hell of a good waitress as well. Many thanks to her and the Daily Grill for a fantastic lunch meeting!

Garlic Garlic Mashed Potatoes.. Garlic lover? Must have your Mashed Potatoes? Then you've found the bucket of gold. These Garlic Mashed Potatoes hold up to their name very well. Prepared just right...... neither over or under mashed and PLENTY of garlic to satisfy your little taste budds garlic craving!! Dont forget the mints. =)

Good food but not a "regular" place for us. My husband and I had dinner at the Daily Grill a few weeks back, as it's on our way home. We were greeted at the door and seated quickly. Since it was our first time there, our waitress gave us the courtesy of time to peruse the menu thoroughly. After taking our order, our appetizers came out fairly quickly...but then our dinners came out almost immediately after that. If there is one single thing that irks me in some restaurants these days, it is the fact that I AM THE DINER...the food should be served when I AM READY...not just because the kitchen had a few spare moments to make my entree. I hate it when I have to hurry up and eat my appetizer so my entree doesn't go cold. It doesn't make for a relaxing dining experience. Needless to say, I was peeved.

After delivering our entrees, our waitress pretty much disappeared. She didn't have time to come back to fill our beverages (yet another pet peeve for me), but she did have time to socialize with the table of handsome young men just a few feet away from us. Again...needless to say...she did not receive the best of tips from us. Too bad for her she didn't know that I usually tip 20% or more.

The quality of the food was excellent, by the way. It was a little pricey for everyday dining, though. The atmosphere was comfortable, friendly and casual. I'd like to go here again...but this time have a different wait staff member. Maybe we'll try a different location in the Southland.

try the chops !!!. i tried the pork chops; loved them. service is great!!! cute servers, too.
