really bad food, favorite multigrain pancakes, bad service, delightfully tastey spin, favorite cobb salad, original dishes, enjoy good earth
My Favorite Restaurant.
When I am in LA I always go to The Good Earth Restaurant.
My favorite plate is 9 Veg.
I remember when I was living in Westwood I used to go to the restaurant there. When they closed I used to drive
across the canyon to go to Ventura, just to eat.
HAIR in FOOD! VALET'S Mistreat Cars!". HORRIBLE HORRENDOUS Experiences w/ these folks!! Where do I start? I've frequented the place numerous times cuz I do business in the area. The food is consistently MEDIOCRE AT BEST. The soup tastes like it's from a TIN CAN. The rolls taste like stale CARDBOARD. The Giant Cookies are BLAND. The venue itself smells like STALE AIR. I ate there w/ a group once and there was actually a HAIR in my Side Order of Pancakes!! When I complained to the manger lady she said: "There's no one in the kitchen w/ that color hair." (Insinuating I was lying!) The City HEATH INSPECTOR should shut this Slop Joint down! Believe it or Not they have a VALET Service! How Ludicrous! It's like the Wienerschnitzel Hot Dog chain having Valet! Utterly laughable! And the Valet Jockeys are MEAN & NASTY. The last few times I ordered Take Out I left my car in their lot while doing business in the neighborhood & they left RUDE, THREATENING NOTES on my car! Meanwhile there were literally 40+ free spaces leftover! These NIT-WITS are loosing business & they're in Panic Mode! (Their sister restaurant already CLOSED.) The Jockeys are out of control - zooming around like teenage Street Racers in your car. I actually saw one valet rear-end a brand new Mercedes into a dumpster! I give this Half-Assed, Dump of a restaurant ZERO STARS! Avoid these MO-FOs like the PLAGUE!
Don't Bother.
When I walked in and saw it was practically empty on a Friday night, I should have turned around and left. I don't know what possessed me to sit down in this dimly lit, dirty place. I ordered their special, which was an Ahi salad. When delivered, the fish was impossible to really chew and swallow. It wasn't spiced. The lettuce was plain and a little stale.
My friend ordered a burger; which was a little better, but not worth the stiff price for it.
The restroom was dirty.
When I read the good reviews, it makes me think the employees are writing them.
Health food without the attitude. This place has a really relaxed atmosphere and does health food without being pretentious about it. They offer all kinds of veggie and vegan fare. I always go for soup and sandwich but I hear their entrees are great too. They also have a great selection of teas. I would definitely recommend this place for a health food restaurant that keeps it humble.
Best Healthy Food. The Good Earth is a healthy and peaceful dining experience! Make sure and try the spinach raviolis and their BLT sandwich they can not be matched!
Conviently Healthy Cuisine. This dining establishment is a pleasure to visit for my honey and I. The food is healthier than what you'd get at most restaurants and it tastes great! I have never needed to make reservations or wait to be seated. The average meal costs no more than $15.00 there, which is superb for those who do not have extravagant lifestyles (myself included).
Only for the super-healthy (not me). There's absolutely nothing on the menu that doesn't feel like it was made out of old granola. Some people like that but mostly the deserted tables and the kitschy environment make it clear that this place is past its time. My wife got sick from the food and I had the runs all night (sorry, but it's true). Unless your body is your temple and it's "clean" for natural foods, this place is too much of a risk...also, it smells like maple syrup.
Always A Treat.
I can't really understand the three reviews already posted and how negative it was, but I think "The Good Earth" is an example of excellent dining. I don't get to go out to Studio City very often, but if I'm in the area, I make sure to go.
My favorite is their Cobb salad, which is fantastic, and their multi-grain pancakes, which in my opinion, are the best there is. I always anticipate their multi-grain rolls, too, which come with butter and applesauce. The ambiance at the restaurant is very relaxed, although a bit noisy, and not as cozy as I would like. Maybe because its more vegetarian than anything, I always associate it with a more "Westside" vibe, especially in terms of clientele. The wait staff is usually busy and maybe not as attentive as possible, but I've never been disappointed.
why is this place popular?. i don't know if we just had the wrong things, but the food here is really bad...just completely bland and uninteresting. the service was really slow, the ambience is like that of a barn's. not a place i'd ever recommend or go to again.
Hit or Miss. Some dishes are tasty and original, others are bland and unsatisfying. I've been there a handful of times and it definitely is a roll of the dice. The service, however, was ALWAYS BAD. So, my last time was my LAST time.
