My 6'4 boyfriend and I love to go to this place because I get to eat sushi and he can actually get full without having to fork over a bunch of money. The all you can eat is seriously the best. I've always hated sushi buffets because really, who knows how long it's been laying there? They make everything fresh to order and it's really pretty fast. In response to some of the one-star reviews, the AYCE rules are right there on the table. If you can read in English, I promise, you would have known you have to eat EVERYTHING on your plate, which, not surprisingly, means the rice as well. What I eat is always worth the value of the $26 price. And my boyfriend DEFINITELY eats his fair share. Give Midori a try and you'll see what I mean.

So rude. Cheap tricks. More than the $26 price quoted

A friend took me there for the first time last night. She told the waitress it was my first time and to explain how things worked there. The waitress suggested the all you can eat for $26 and showed me everything I could order with that special. I ordered 3 things. Later she stopped to tell me I have to eat everything on my plate. I joked "If I don't clean my plate will you make me work in the kitchen and then clean my plate?" She laughed but didn't explain what she actually meant.

As I started to slow down and talk with my friend more than I was eating she again stopped and then told me I would be charged for what I didn't eat. I asked her what she meant exactly but she shushed me, put her hand up and asked me to wait while she wrote an order from someone that interrupted my question. Here's the crazy part. After writing the order (8 seconds later) she quickly turned and scurried off without answering my question (pretending to forget?). Then whenever I tried to get her attention she would look the other way (at nothing) and quicken her step to get by us. That's sad. They are too ashamed of their rip off rule to say it out loud, for other customers to hear, when someone new like me asks them to stop, look me right in the eyes and clarify.

So I did what I've done since I was a kid and ate everything but the rice. I then called her over and asked if the boss was going to charge me for the 50 cents worth of rice I didn't eat and she said no with a laugh. Well yes they did charge extra on the actual bill and they charge FULL ORDER PRICE so over $70 later I'm left with a bad taste in my mouth that still tastes bad the next day. When I pay that much more than the food is worth I do it for the atmosphere, service and good moods that linger even after leaving a place and on into the evening.

There are too many other nice places run by families that like people. You can see it in their faces and spirits. Midori likes money and treat us like cash cattle. I would rather give my business to one of the friendly, family run restaurants that are struggling in these times like the rest of us.

PS, I had asked the waitress how much if I just paid for the 3 things I ordered and she assured me it would be more and the crab thingy alone was over $10. Today I used their internet menu to add up my 3 items and it only came to $25. That's a dollar less than their $26 SPECIAL. She knew the prices and played me (crab thingy is a little less than $10, not more). Even had the nerve to charge more than the $26 because I couldn't finish their MSG filled rice. How long do they expect to last? Give me my money back and here's your food back, Rrrrralph.

This was once our favorite restaurant

My friends, family and myself have been going to Midori for years and it has been quickly going down hill.

This once a fun place to have lunch or dinner but now the management and the servers have made it a very uncomfortable place to dine.

The food was always fresh and the sushi chefs kept things very interesting.

Our last three times eating at our favorite sushi place made everyone sick.

Could be because we had such awful service and where rushed to eat and get out or maybe it is not as fresh as it once was.

Sad for all of us loyal patrons of the last 10 years but we are looking for the new favorite Studio City sushi spot.
