great food slow service.
food is great. healthy and tasty. good size portions. and great prices especially for lunch specials.
chicken sate is a must try. i would say give yourself a little extra time as the service is slower than one would want for a quick cheap hole in the wall lunch place.

Tasteless.
The food here is extremely tasteless and salty. The place itself also has a bad stench of old fish. The prices are cheap enough- I guess you get what you pay for but it's not even worth it. The place has such a strong smell and the food is just toooooo tasteless. =(.

Good lunch specials.
The food here is not amazing, but pretty good. They have very affordable lunch specials with salad and a small meal for under $10. Try it out.

The best Thai food in Los Angeles (so far)!.
I've eaten at several Thai restaurants in L.A. over the years, from Venice to Silver Lake and from El Segundo to Northridge. Thus far, I'd have to say that "Thai Original BBQ" on Ventura Blvd. in Studio City has the best food. The restaurant itself is fairly small, and the decor is nice. The staff is attentive, stopping by several times for refills and asking if everything is OK. The food is made with high-quality ingredients, especially quality cuts of meat. No rubbery, flavorless meat scraps here! They also balance spiciness quite well. Everything my party of four ordered was excellent: Thai iced tea, spring rolls (Vietnamese-style) with peanut sauce, shrimp rolls, beef and rice dishes, noodle dishes, etc. The curry dish almost resembled a Yankee potroast; the chunks of beef were so tender and large. Two minor complaints: no sticky rice, and next to no parking!

Quaint & cozy but slow in service.
I like this restaurant because it is small and cozy. The decor inside make you feel like you are truly in another place. The food is a little over average. It's good but they need to hire more waiters/waitresses. It's a shame that some customers couldn't handle the wait and took off. I don't blame them. It seemed like there were only two waiters that week night when I went. Between the two, they took orders, clean the tables, help with seatings...overall service was very slow! I would come back if service was better.

Savory Examples.
Thai BBQ is one not to be missed. The food is excellent and the prices are reasonable. We have been eating at this place for many years and never experienced a bad meal. Enjoy the menu and try various dishes you won't be disappointed. The staff is family run and there can be language barriers if not a bit of indifference but they are efficient and quick.

Awesome.
Still has the BEST BBQ chicken in town. Plus, you can buy the infamous 'sauce' that comes with it.
