So it's not quite as old or distiguished as the author, but this just-like-Mama-made-it greasy spoon has been a hallmark of Studio City for a long time, and locals appreciate it as such. There's nothing fancy or California-creative about this homage to down home cuisine--Twain's just keeps it traditional with classic breakfast combinations, pancakes and a solid set of sandwich options. While the food might not inspire your creative bone, there is a good chance you will catch some eye candy, as this 24-hour joint is known for fairly frequent celeb sightings.

Some of the staff have probably been there 25+ years. You can tell because they know the menu and are really friendly. You don't go to Twain's to get amazing food... you go to get a big plate of greasy hashed browns for very cheap, or at 1:00 after prom because they're still open. They have a patio, that despite the so-so quality of food, is always packed. Remember, they only take cash, but there's an ATM that is sometimes working.... Honestly, this place is amazing, and housed some of the most fun meals in my highschool days. They put up with loud roudy teenagers and provide good diner service. When I ate meat: I reccomend the Roast Beef and Cheese sandwhich. Veggie: A Big plate of hashed browns. : )

This is my favorite restaurant! My boyfriend and I always make sure to eat here at least twice every trip we make to Hollywood. I have not spotted a celebrity yet, but I go there for the unbeatable prices, the fabulous food, and the cozy diner atmosphere. I love it and Highly Recommend it for the weary traveler looking for a pleasant bite to eat.

This is one of those San Fernando Valley places to try and spot the celebrity on the patio. You never know who might be eating there. The food is good. Greasy, but good. The service could use a little improving. The prices are fine.
