HOT GIRLS, decent SUSHI. This is average quality but tasty sushi--but you dont go to Sushi-ya for the food you go to people watch: lots of hot girls come here and the waitresses are very pretty. Great location, friendly staff, overall an A+. Portions are very small though and pricey. About the same price as Katsuya at 1/2 the quality, but I still love this place.

Our new favorite sushi spot. Dont know where to start but we just had an amazing time last night at Sushiya. I usually do not right reviews but felt that I needed to show my appreciation for their great hospitality. The staff where super friendly and knowledgeable about there sushi which made the experience even better!! Food was perfect, all the rolls we had where to die for and the sushi and sashimi where equally as good!! We even got a round of sake on the house sent to us from the GM. Thanks Sushiya for a fun and memorable evening, we will be back:)

Good sushi, slow service at lunch. Went to lunch here for a quick bite with a friend. The sushi service was fairly fast, but my friend ordered the beef skewers, and that took longer than it should have, especially as we were the only people in the entire place aside from the staff. Once the food came, she said it was delicious, however. My spicy tuna roll was good (standard) and my yellowtail sashmi was just ok.

AMAZING SUSHI!!!!. Was staying at the Mondrian hotel on sunset and got refered to Sushiya by the concierge. Was a little weiry at first but after my first serving of sushi I new that I found a home run with this place, the fish was FRESH. Great outdoor patio on the Sunset Strip and a very cool sushi bar, the chef was extremly friendly and creative(thanks chef Tiger)!! This will be my new favorite sushi restaurant whenever im visiting L.A.

Hidden Treasure in Los Angeles. I went to Sushiya a few nights ago with some of my girlfriends and we had the BEST experience! Not only was the staff great (very knowledgable and friendly) but the sushi was AMAZING! Their rolls are great, the sashimi melts in your mouth, and their Chocolate cake is to DIE FOR! I HIGHLY recomment this place to anyone that is a true sushi lover.... great vibe, great food, great price!

BAD BAD and Bad. Smelly Fish..horrible sushi..can't believe it is open. Stinky food. YUCK. We hated it...AAAAND to top it all up...it is $$$$$$$ EXPENSIVE. Do yourself a favor and steer away. Even crappy Ralph's supermarket sushi is waaaay better...way!!!

Old smelly fish with after-taste. A few of us went and ordered a few things - the soup, edamame and salads were fine. THEN came the fish and the rolls...YUCK! I hate to put negative ratings for any place but Sushiya on Sunset deserves nothing but bad reviews. We ordered a few rolls and they all were horrible. Sushi smelled and was chewey; the fish was old/dated and smelly. We complained and the server said she can do nothing about it bcz the manager was not there. I told her we wil not pay for these rolls/fish and they ended up deducting them after a mini fuss. Will never go there again.

Good sushi and location. This place has the longest list of rolls I've seen in a long time!! There were many to choose from and all of the ones we ordered were good. They were pretty big rolls but I felt they were a bit overpriced. Our waitress went outside for a smoke break while we were eating our first two rolls though, and we had to wait for her to come back so we could order more. But, she was perfectly nice otherwise. Location is also great, right in Sunset Plaza.

I wouldn't go back. fire antem. so I stopped in for a quick bite. This "quick bite" turned into two hours of waiting on a waitres ( antem I think her name was with short dark hair) who would stand in the corner and be texting while I watched my food sit at the sushi bar????The place is much smaller and trasher then I saw in the web page and I was very displeased with the service and ambiance. I would not recommend this place due to the service of my "unhappy" to be working waitress and the food was over priced for the quality:(

The Volcano Roll will Have you HOOKED. I was in SoCal last weekend for a friend's birthday and we stopped in this place after shopping in the area. Not only was the staff friendly, but the sushi and sashimi were by far the best I have ever had anywhere (and I am from the San Francisco Bay Area). The food was fresher than fresh, the menu was fairly priced and, sitting at the sushi bar, we were able to intermingle with the chef. He even got in our group photo! I highly recommend this place to anyone who appreciates fresh and delicious sushi at a reasonable price.
