This friendly little sandwich shop just steps from the Venice Boardwalk is where folks head for simple and tasty sandwiches. Owned by a local husband and wife team (the place is actually named after their beloved dog Zelda), the tiny outpost offers crispy French baguettes filled with items like egg, cheese and avocado for breakfast or roast beef and cheddar for lunch, as well as sourdough melts featuring everything from turkey to ham. Aside from drinks and deli items from the refrigerated case, there are the famed mini donuts--fried pieces of piping hot dough that are just $3 for a dozen.
