view & uploadgood cuban food, fast service, great prices, not as good el rincon criollo, very tender beef, recommend holeinthewall restaurant, nice people
I ordered take-out. The place is appealing but not to roomy, has maybe 6-8 tables inside and a few outside. Definitely authentic and the food was delicious, I ordered the ropa vieja(shredded beef) and it came with white rice, black beans and plantains, aslo added a flan for desert. I'm not big on black beans and usually wont bother finishing them but at this place they were great! plantains are thee best, they are whole not slices like usual and have a perfect glaze to them. The beef was pretty good and not to rich or full of vegetables and very tender. Overall I recommend this restaurant because the food is good and not pricey and because Im going back to get some good looking sea food dishes I seen and take it home for the family, I'll make sure to let you know how it is too. Also, the flan was goood!
Great Garlic-Onion Pollo Asado. That dish is just under $7, and comes with a huge mound of rice, as well as generous helpings of black beans and fried plantains. El Rincon Criollo is not only quiet and cozy, but the walls are covered with colorful Cuban paintings of the island, the people, and classic American cars. Their blended coffee and fruit smoothies (e.g. guayabana) are large, delicious and reasonably priced.
Make your mouth water. It is a day later and I am still thinking about this food. I had the garlic chicken and it was scrumptious! I took one bite into this tender chicken and my teeth sank into the the garlic glazed piece of meat. It was like a burst of flavor. The service is wonderful to say the least. I frequent restaurants around my area but nothing compares to the delight in this intimate hide away. I will definetly be returning, maybe sometime this week
Perfect portions and great price. This place IS better than Versailles, not only in taste, but in portions. I could never finish the food at Versailles. One thing I do miss at Versailles is the fast service. I think El Rincon can use another waitress. But, guess what, El Rincon takes reservations now so call in before you go, especially on weekends.
iHola, viejo! ¿Qué se cuenta?. Don't go to Versailles! Go to El Rincon Criollo, have the roasted chicken, and please understand that it is far superior to any chicken in any other Cuban restaurant in a twenty-mile radius. The service is so friendly, and the food so radically awesome, that you will be shocked (shocked!) how low your bill is at the end of the night. Great for a casual dinner.
THE GARLIC CHICKEN IS GREAT!. I used to go to Versailles for garlic chicken but El Rincon Criollo is definetly better. The price is definitly not an issue..(~$6 for 1/4 chicken, rice, black beans and fried bananas. )
Best Cuban food in LA. The Ropa Vieja is the best I've had in California!
Hidden Gem.
I've talked to people who've lived in Culver City their whole life and didn't know this place was here. It's a shame because the food is delicious and the prices are (somewhat) reasonable.
Both times I went I sampled the Cuban sandwich, which was really delicious. I had a side of tostones (fried plantains) and they were good as well. Ask for the garlic sauce to dip them in.
The service is prompt and efficient, though make sure you ask for your check or you will be left waiting awhile.
The outdoor patio is small but cozy.
