best food service ever

Ok I spent 20min trying to sign up just so i can write this...i read someone had a bad review about service and almost fell out of bed. ok there are more fancy and over priced placed but let me tell you this THERE IS NO BETTER PLACE FOR YOU $ THAN SPUMONI'S!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I dont want to type anymore so just go check place yourself

Best Italian in Sherman Oaks!

I drive by this restaurant almost every day and finally decided to give it a try last week. The reviews don't lie. This place is pretty special. We made a reservation and we had to wait a little , almost 25 minutes because this place was jam packed . I get the feeling all the locals go here because of its great ' familia style' and cheap delicious food. Although the owner( who made a point of personal greeting us and shaking our hand) seems to be Eastern European and not Italian. Clearly, they don't rush anyone as we were waiting there for a while. There will still people coming in at 915 -9 30 pm which is RARE to eat so late in LA . The meatball starters for 2.95 were delish, so light so airy! chicken siciliana and spaghetti portofino were amazing. I LOVE that they give you free tiramisu every time as well

This is a must try!

Our goto Italian Sitdown in the Valley

Spumoni is our well-priced, above average, Italian sit down dinner restaurant. The owner is a wonderful restauranteur, friendly as all hell, and he always greets you with a smile. The food is VERY GOOD (but not great), and the service is above average. I love their Quattro Stagioni Pizza, and many of the pastas, gnocchis and chicken dishes are very good. The Caesar salad needs a bit of work.

Sometimes, if you are nice, you get a free piece of Tiramisu with dinner. I forget the owners' name, but he's very sweet with my son, and he always makes an effort to make him comfortable. In fact, Spumoni's is where our 5 year old chose to have his birthday dinner. Yes, even young kids can have good taste.

Everyone should get to Spumoni's - their lunch special is awesome.

  • Pros: Wonderful owner, good food, dessert
  • Cons: Chairs suck

Best Food and Service out there.. I don't know WHAT these outrageous people are saying below.

I am a very picky person and I try not to try anything new. But when one of my good friends recommended this place with such enthusiasm I had to try it. And luckily I did. I wasn't disappointed at all! The waiter named Vasak was a comical and genuinely nice guy who made sure EVERYTHING was taken care. The food was to DIE FOR! I had the Pollo Dela Casa which made my mouth water. The creamy sauce and warmly melted cheese is still on my mind. The dessert was free and I can?t believe anyone would have the nerve to complain about the size. That just shows what kind of person ?honeybuns84? is. I?m glad that cow of a person will never be returning so I will never run into them!!!! That?s just shocking.

  • Pros: FOOD SERVICE EVERYTHING!
  • Cons: nothing I could think of..

if you like your food cold

being myself from europe im kind of a specialist when it comes down to italian food so

my husband and i decided to check out this nice looking italian restaurant.

so we went here twice and i gotta say, unfortunately, both times were disappointing and the restaurant was empty (thursday and friday night)

i ordered the chicken parmigiana with pasta and vegetables and my husband got chicken with eggplant.

the only thing on the plate that was hot was the meat, the pasta was more than just al dente and the vegetables were cold and looked like they came right out of a bag. not a surprise that we got our food after 10 minutes !!!

the second time was even worse, and yes, we gave the restaurant a second chance to see if the first time was just a 'bad day' and well, here we go again.

my husband had chicken with alfredo sauce and i got spaghetti bolognese...

his chicken as usual was hot, but the rest was ice cold, my spaghetti were blend ,yet again more than al dente and the sauce was terrible. no seasoning whatsoever. very sad, but that wasnt the worst...

all of a sudden, the employees, thought it would be a great idea to clean the dishwasher and the whole restaurant started to smell so bad and strong (because of the cleaner) that i almost threw up while eating... all thumbs down

the only positive thing was that we got free desserts both times........(tiny 'try out' size,though)
