Editorial Review. Casual, family-friendly Middle Eastern restaurant dishes up exotic seafood, as well as grilled meat and chicken kabobs.

My favorite Persian restaurant!. After my former favorite Persian restaurant (Rumsar) in W. LA dissapeared, I was looking for another restaurant that offers foods as delicious and reasonable as Rumsar, and service as good and friendly as Rumsar. And, here it is! The Shamshiri Grill in Westwood! I was so happy to find my favorite dish "Fesenjan" with Chicken and "Lubia Polo" rich dish. It's just that this restaurant doesn't have regular lavash, but that's okay. Their bread seems very fresh :-) And, the almost-open kitchen (closed with a glass wall) made the place more welcoming, I think. Also, one of the people who work there or maybe one of the owners speaks Japanse, and it was a big surprise :-D

I think I want to have my birthday there!!

Top-notch Persian food.. The food hear is affordable and very tasty. You get large portions, and the service is very friendly and prompt, and you don't wait too long to recieve your meal. You can also get takeout, but I think eating in is best. I particularly recomend the Chicken Koobideh sandwich wrap, and the Sabzi Polo, as my favorite dishes. Shirazi salad is a must as well. And when you are done, have some Persian ice cream, it is heavenly. This place has a nice layout as well, and is a good place to bring family, but please, not screaming little kids. Overall, a very affordable, great experience.

Nice local joint, but I like Darya's food better. Strong points: prettily decorated and arranged restaurant, hospitable and cute waitstaff, warm fresh pita-style bread, good sauces, properly cooked food meats and veggies, excellent vegetarian options, very nice okra dish. (I usually hate okra.) Weak points: rice fully cooked but unfortunately left to dry out (both plain and baghala polo, manager somewhat brusque, hideous wine choices, freezing breeze when the door opens, music cranked louder as night goes on. If Darya on Santa Monica Blvd would copy this place's decor and serve both warm pita and their cold lavash we'd be in business!

Beautiful restaurant with Mouth Savoring Persian Food. When I first walked into Shamshiri Grill, I was awestruck in the OPEN GRILL. I could actually see the Chefs cooking the Kabobs. The service was very speedy. The waiter was very knowledgable of the different types of dishes and the ingredients in the stews and salads.. My girlfriend and I got seated quickly. I liked the ambience of the restaurant. The paintings were very gorgeous and the tuscany orange walls made the room very warm and inviting. The dishes are delectable. Shamshiri Grill is a great place to go to for healthy minded people like me.I ordered the white fish dish with a large dish of Persian Salad. Since there is a wine menu, I ordered a glass of Shiraz Wine. The breads are made fresh in the restaurant and was warm and toasty once it arrived at our table. I highly recommend this place and its desert menu. I hope you enjoy your first experience at Shamshiri Grill like I did 4 years

ago. There is convenient parking on the street as well as across the street.

Authentic Persian Food in Unique Environment. It was nice to sit down for some good Persian food at a restaurant without gold plated walls and gawdy chandelilers. Shamshiri does a great job of combining the best of Persian cuisine (kababs, salads, and stews which are all top notch) with a hip and trendy atmosphere. Kudos Shamshiri Kudos!

Incredible flavor and value. Persian flavors at their best with a surprising variety of vegetarian versions of tradictional dishes.
