once you go peet's, you never go starbuck's

I LOVE PEET'S. they are the best coffee place hands down. you get a strong tasting coffee that is not burnt. their mocha's are to die for. and the scharfenberger chocolate (a high-quality chocolate used for baking and cooking) freddo is the bomb. they use real whip cream, not the canned supermarket stuff they have at coffee bean. my favorite days are tuesday and thursdays--they have major dickason's espresso and it is a great blend. peet's is two blocks farther from my house than both starbuck's and coffee bean. yet every morning i walk right past them so i can get my peet's fix.
- Pros: BEST coffee. period. friendly staff
- Cons: slow staff (but worth it)

trying to like, but falling short

I'm trying to like this place..really I am. I tried to avoid Starbucks and Coffee Bean, but I gave Peets a chance. There hot chocolate is flavorless, their chocolate chip cookie is vegan and has no taste (opt for Trader Joe's vegan cookies--delicious, lil salty). Their blended coffee drinks are bland. Their baristas are really nice, but the food speaks for itself.
