Job hunting just got easier!

A couple of months ago I was looking for a new job and went along the usual course. The online services, the weekend paper. I even drove to companies I wanted to work at, just to introduce myself to Human Resources.

I was familiar with placement agencies and had received phone calls from a few. I would drive down there and eventually they would put me in an office with reading material on what they do. You then use a computer terminal to basically re-enter everything off your resume. I call this the quantity over quality method of recruiting.

To my surprise, the office is divided into placement-teams. I fell into the programming group. I sat and had a wonderful conversation with a guy named Raleigh and then figured ok, when do I enter in my data and become just another number. Raleigh introduced me to Everyone in the programming group. It was a way for everyone to interview me, see how I present myself, etc.

Here?s the best part. I ALWAYS got a phone call on the way to the interview to help build up my confidence. I ALWAYS got a phone call after the interview and the employer also received a phone call asking how I did. Did he dress properly, Was he on time, What could he have done better to impress you. Whoever is your primary rep, is always trying to improve your changes. They even give you about 15 minutes background on who will interview you ?Nice guy but quiet. Show them your stuff and compliment the new building?.

After a couple of months, we had so many close calls (seemed I was always in the top two), I became so impressed and motivated that I spent some last funds to buy my representative a brand new iPod with the inscription ?2008 ? You?re an inspiration?.

Just make sure you know your stuff. Get books, study, take internet exams.

From the employers perspective, you get excellent leads because they always get feedback after every interview!
