After years of traveling to Baja California and enjoying fish tacos at beachside stands, Ralph Rubio opened his first restaurant in San Diego in 1983, banking on the south-of-the-border favorite. Today, Rubio's are located throughout the Southwest serving tacos, burritos salads and more. Baja-style fish tacos are the specialty--beer-battered Alaskan Pollack, cabbage and salsa in a soft corn tortilla. Street tacos (carnitas, carne asada, chicken), quesadillas, nachos and taquitos are other popular options.

Lobster!. The Lobster burrito makes my tongue sing a song only canines could decipher! Good gracious what a treat!!! My only complaint about this place is that on 2 seperate occasions they mixed up my burrito order and gave me shrimp! (I asked for mahi mahi/lobster) But you know something? It was so tantalizing after the first bite that I did not care that they screwed it up! I just kept on eating like some sort of malnourished scavenger! Finger licking good is a term that another franchise uses. Well apply that also to Rubios! It's fresh and fabulous! The fish tacos are also splendid, and come with your meal if you wish to order a combo! I suggest you do :)
