Friendly, competent, no attitude, no upselling--New Downtown Location Main at 8th, 213-627-0580

A great shop catering to locals, commuters, fixie riders, people trying to keep older rigs running, and other non-"pro" cyclists. The focus is on repairs not on selling new gear. Work is done well and for reasonable rates. You may have to find your own parts on EBay or online if they don't stock them, but they'll show you the parts manual and help you get the right part number for your repair. I've had derailleurs, brakes, bottom brackets, and wheel truing done here, satisfied with all of them. Last time I was in it was cash only, the only drawback.

The First Place You Should Go (THEY HAVE A NEW LOCATION)

Jorge Jr and Sr are two great guys who do quality, expert epairs at a good price. I restore Schwinns and I take most of my complete restorations there for one last go-over before the customer gets their bike. I really like these guys and I hightly recommend going there (despite the new location on Main St downtown), yikes. Their new shop is called El Maesto II and is at 806 S Main, right by the intersection of Main/8th sts. Tell them Eric the Schwinn guy sent you.
