In Short – Since opening its first diner in the 1940s, this restaurant has developed into one of the most popular West Coast franchises, claiming industry innovations such as the drive-through window, partial-service dining rooms and their iconic Six Dollar Burgers--a line of oversized, sit-down restaurant-style hamburgers with Angus patties. Other hearty options abound, including steak-and-egg breakfast burritos, crispy chicken sandwiches and chili cheese fries to supplement standbys like onion rings and shoestring potatoes.
Best late night meal

Carl's Jr. is the best for a late night dinner/snack or on the road meal. Try the jalapeno burgers. They are the best!!!!!!! all I can say is YUMMMMM!!!!
- Pros: Better than the competition
The $6 Burger - worth $4
by dbward
The $6 burger is very good when purchased from some Carl's Jr. locations but definitely not from all of them. When done right, it's well worth the $4.
Our local Carl's is great..
by murrieta
Just having a burger that is char-broiled over grilled gives Carl's the edge. Quality is on the upswing, and our local store is always clean with good service. The ad agency that Carl's uses should watch a few of the Jack-in-the-Box ad's and put a more positive approach on their TV promotions. Probably the most distasteful advertising I have seen on TV. The $6 burger does live up to its hype.
- Pros: Quality product, Reasonable prices, Good selection
The Details on Carl's Jr.
The Extras:
Watching your figure? Try one of the low-carb menu options, such as the bun-less Six Dollar Burgers wrapped in lettuce.
Know Before You Go:
The gimmicky "Six Dollar Burger" is a misnomer; most varieties sell for about $4.
