Best Japanese Restaurant in LA
by wgSchubert at Citysearch
This just has to be the only good (actually, wonderful) Japanese restaurant left in the LA area. I've been going for more than forty years and have never had anything but a most enjoyable dining experience. I go to dinner at Mikado as often as I can, it's worth the drive.
- Pros: best of everything
- Cons: hope my review doesn't make it too crowded to get in
Mikadon't !
by Hope4LA at Citysearch
We've passed by this restaurant many times and being open minded to trying something new and Japanese, we stopped to enjoy an early dinner. The atmosphere was friendly and inviting, decor and bathrooms decorated nicely creating what should be the perfect mood to enjoy good Japanese food. Though other reviewers raved about the Sushi, we chose to order off the menu. To our surprise, the menu was limited and dull. We should have known that the food would be as well. When it finally arrived, it was lukewarm, undercooked and unappetizing. The portions were rather small for Asian cuisine and overpriced as well. We've had better tasting frozen Japanese food from the grocery store. Save your time and money.
- Pros: Ambience,Decor
- Cons: Overpriced, Food quality
