Pricey. I saw 'Just Go With It' with friends and it was an OK experience. I paid $10 for general parking but later found out that it's $5 if you get validated at the movies (I'm from out of town). After eating lunch with friends at Panda Inn, we purchased tickets outside at the kiosks. My friends paid for my ticket, but I think it was like $12.50 for a ticket...that's pretty expensive. One of my friends got a slurpee at the concession stand and that was pretty quick. We overshot our theatre because we were looking at the movie posters and standees so we felt kind of dumb.

Inside out theatre, the first chair I was going to sit down in had a bunch of salt on it. The next chair to the left had popcorn crumbs. So we all shifted down one seat to the right and sat together. The seats were very comfortable and reclined. This was the first time I can say my butt didn't hurt at the end of a movie from sitting so long on a hard surface.

The movie was in digial, as I could see slight aliasing/pixelation on the text on the green band portion of the trailers. One can get into a debate about which is better, digital or film, but I won't go into it. Either is fine with me and I'm happy to report that the film presentation was very acceptable.

To sum up, the things I didn't like where the high ticket price and the dirty seats. Things I did like were the comfortable chairs and good film presentation. If I lived out here, I don't think this would be my first choice if I wanted to just see a movie, but if I was already at Citywalk for something else, I would probably pay the high price and see a movie here.

This is what happens when kids run a theater.. As I went in to see a brand new movie (Harry Potter) and used passes purchased for my anniversary, I expected a light crowd on a matinee show, as well as a crystal clear show presented since the print was no more than 3 days old. As a projectionist myself, I do understand that my eyes are finely tuned, but still. Within moments of the trailers beginning I noticed that the tension was not adjusted (which causes a jittery of jumping of the picture) as well as a focus problem. ANY projectionist who can run a 35mm projector should be trained on how to tune this! Their first problem was not communicating this to the guy upstairs. Secondly their management staff is unprofessional, trying to correct the guest without listening to the full comment/complaint. Finally if indeed this was something out of their control (like a skewed or burnt lens) then WHY would they place a new movie in that house?! Theater itself looks clean, but that can be done anywhere! Don't waste your time!!!! Only reason they got two stars from me is they know how to hand a pass over to silence the customer!!!!

Worst Movie Experience Ever.. My disgust at the movie theater cannot be adequately put into words. After the last experience, I vowed never to go again. I have never had a good time there, but the last time took the cake. People blatantly talking on phones, not paying attention, etc. Worse yet, there was a large group of teenagers standing in the aisle joking and having fun. YES, STANDING IN THE AISLE. For well over 15 minutes. I went and told management and they told me there wasn't much they could do about it. Really> Really?!! You have people standing in the aisle having a party and you don't think asking them to leave or take a seat or quiet down is relevant? This theater is filled with amateurs. Theatergoers. Staff. Everyone. I should know better, as Citywalk is a tourist trap. Still, avoid at all costs.

Editorial Review. Eighteen-screen, first-run movie theater atop Universal's Citywalk features DTS Digital and Dolby Sound systems and an Imax theater. Oh, and gourmet pizza and pretzels are among the fine concessions offered.

Spend your money elsewhere. With theaters increasing their movie ticket prices, it should only be fair that these theaters increase the quality of the film going experience. Here's what you are looking to spend at the AMC Universal Citywalk for two adults. $5 for parking, $23 for two adults, $14 for popcorn and drinks - which is $42 for just two people. I spent that much money to watch a movie at this place over the weekend only to watch a movie where the projector bulb was causing the picture quality to change from light to dark throughout the movie. Not only that but there was a baby crying in the theater and no ushers were around to do anything about it. Mind you, this is a 10pm weekend show and someone brought a baby to the theater! With the amount of money they charge, they should be able to properly maintain their projector equipment and provide the appropriate usher service for disruptive people in the audience. There are other theaters in L.A. that care for their customers. I'd recommend going to those places and avoiding this AMC.

Poor customer service at Universal City IMAX Theatre.. On 12/25/06 I saw A Night At The Museum w/my brother & his wife at the CityWalk IMAX. I paid $45 online for 3 adult tickets. THE IMAX has no ushers. The ArcLight charges the same amount & the Arclight provides ushers. With no ushers there is no bag checking. I brought canned pineapple while my brother paid $19.50 for a medium popcorn, 2 large drinks, & nachos which made my sister-in-law ill with gas. BUT NO ushers is mostly bad. Ushers would have closed the doors when the film started & kept late comers from stepping on me. Ushers also would have made sure that by the time the lights dimmed everyone had a seat. Among those who came on time, not everyone had found a seat when it got dark. A CRUCIAL function of ushers is to stay during the film (at the ArcLight anyway) and monitor audience behavior. Not 10 minutes into the film a baby began crying. A woman was standing in the side aisle next to a stroller rocking the baby. I was so irritated that I screamed "Take that baby outside woman!" I didn't pay $45 to hear a baby cry. Instead of anyone telling me "Shhhhh" someone shouted something in support. There should have been an usher right there letting the woman know that AMC policy did not allow her to remain inside the theatre while her baby cried. In my opinion $15/ticket entitles me to the AMC providing the staff necessary to insure that my IMAX "experience" is pleasant and smooth. THE IMAX auditorium is on the top floor of the theatre. The ladies restroom on the right side of the auditorium is not well maintained. When I and my sister-in-law used the restroom, out of the 4 stalls, the 2 we used did not have toilet paper. The woman who entered the stall next to me said "Oooh, this place is nasty." I don't even want to know to what she was referring. I was in the first stall and the lock did not lock on the stall door. THE PICTURE was crisp and the sound was too but due to the overall experience I would not recommend the IMAX theatre at CityWalk.

Beware, Await January '07 Remodel. Last week I had to walk out of a screening. Why? Broken seats, embarrassingly bad (very soft focus) projection and an absolutely freezing cold theater. The very courteous manager, giving us passes to use elsewhere at AMC, said that they were going to be replacing all the seats in January. Hopefully, they will also be doing a complete inside remodel because bad projection, no stadium seating and faulty climate control do not make for an enjoyable experience.

Never Again..... Saw a great movie, but wasn't good enough to make me want to go to this movie theater ever again. I felt completely ripped off!

I am a local, the parking policy stinks. If you choose to drive here, the only option is to pay $10.00 for parking and recieve either $5.00 off your movie ticket or a $10.00 coupon for food at other CityWalk restaurants or theater concessions. Not to be a cheapskate, but it was just me, had lunch earlier and did not want to eat. So, I took the 5 bucks off my ticket, making my 4 pm Sunday afternoon ticket come to $16.00 with $6 now for the ticket and $10 for the parking. ( ! )

Then, I counted 7 commercials and 5 previews before my movie. ( ! ) I LIKE PREVIEWS, but it took forever to get to them because I was forced to watch all these commercials that I can see easily on the tv at home. ( ! )

The place was clean and quiet. The workers were helpful. Its just so pathetic how they rip everyone off. Please don't go to this theater.

This theater is LAME !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
