Good location, huge pool.
After trying to decide between this location and the Sheraton, I was pretty happy with my choice (even though it IS a hilton). The place is huge and the pool is enormous -- it actually has a divider for the lap area and is nicely heated at night. I was there on a very cool night, but couldn't resist a swim. I recommend a high floor either overlooking the highway or Universal Studiois --it's great watching all the excitement buzzing beneath you.

Weekend getaway..
I spent a weekend here for my anniversary and the place was very nice. Their service as soon as we got out of the car up until we got into our rooms was remarkable. You can always request to be near the top floor, which gives you a pretty good view of the city, depending on which side you are on. The rooms are very well maintained, and the bathroom is beautiful, which is very appealing to women ... especially since it has a vanity desk section. Room service was very prompt and the food selections are delicious: their tiramisu is to die for! Beautiful place to spend with your significant other.

Plush accommodations at the foot of one of Hollywood's top destinations..
In Short
Spanning six-and-a-half acres, the hotel is high enough on a hill to afford sweeping city views from all of the particularly spacious rooms. There are 483 rooms and nine suites. You'll often find professional types lingering under the lobby's glass ceiling, as conventions and business meetings are often held in the numerous conference spaces. Amenities include dining at Cafe Sierra and the Lobby Lounge, a health club, heated outdoor pool and whirlpool.

Good location, average service.
The proximity to Universal Studios and the Hollywood Freeway is ideal, but the hotel needs to create a well-marked sidewalk to the amuse park gates. The lobby and hillside location are spectacular. The pool is nice and service is pretty typical for a Hilton -- good but not great. The rooms are not large but have nice views.
