Have you ever noticed that we only
write letters/reviews when we have something bad to say? I'm to blame for this as well, so consider my hand slapped. I like tuk-tuk on Pico. I've never had their delivery, only lunch. I love the decor, the service and mostly the Pad Thai. It's unarguably the best in town. I read about someone not liking the thai tea...that's crazy - try it!

RUDE and DISHONEST.
The waitress tried to charge us 2 taxes on our bill. We thought one was a tip and so we tip her another $5.00. She ran out of the restuarant and asked us what was wrong with the service. Unbelievably RUDE. Food was that good.. Will never go back

Incredible Service.
Our service was great and the waiter was adorable. Ambiance was romantic and definitely recommended. For the music,,,I would recommend jazz or house and the people were cool. Portions were good.

Worst service ever. How does this place continue to operate?.
Worst service ever
I used to go years ago and I just returned from this place. Sunday night, hardly anyone in the place. 8pm and the waitress never came over until we complained twenty minutes later. No attention. Dirty cups and zero concern about anything. The wait staff acting like they were avoiding the customers instead of engaging. The food was ok but I'll only order take out. And maybe I won't do that because this place needs a wake up call. They had the nerve to put a suggestion for the tip. Please! Worst service ever. Never going back. Davyjc

Definitely not the place to have Thai food in L.A..
The poor service matches the quality of food. The beef is dry and tasteless. They close very early and are very rude about it - they turn on the light and give you the check and generally rush you.

Judge for yourself - I dug it!.
I wasn't gonna write a review but after reading the negative reviews I felt I had to speak up. I'm Thai. I love Pad Thai. I've realized that Pad Thai is hard to make consistent and I realized that Thai people don't really eat Pad Thai or at least the kind that is served in the restaurants. It's an americanized dish akin to Orange Chicken. With that said I wouldn't judge the restaurant on a dish they probably put on the menu as a courtesy. Nor would I judge a restaurant based on a take-out experience.
Now what I love about Tuk Tuk is that it differs from Thai Town cuisine in that it strives to present Thai food in a health conscious fashion without sacrificing the spice and the taste. Being a Thai person with a western style, it suited me perfectly. No stomach pains and I still gets me rice, which is a great hearty purple rice they serve. Oh and their eggrolls are awesome. Big and delicately fried.

Good Eats, parking hard, really attentive, Southern girl addicted to Thai now..
A friend of mine, whom is a really picky eater recommended it to me. Well I was really impressed, b/c I'm a sourthern girl from N.O. So everything I let on my pallet has to be well seasoned and a hearty meal. Well I had this wontong soup with some ot the eggrolls and a small side of curry soup. I was floored when finished. I could'nt eat it all and wish they had a location in Atlanta. It had been 10 years since I had been to L.A., so this was a trip I refused to let go bad. I expected everything to go perfect and it started w/TukTuk. The service is really attentive and the waiters and waitresses were really cute, the aroma makes you wanna eat everything, my Wonton Soup was perfect. I will be back

Best Thai in LA my butt.
I was craving Thai one night and decided to try a different place, so I googled "Best Thai food in Los Angeles," and came across Tuk Tuk Thai Cafe. I overlooked the negative ratings since their were more positive ratings overall, so I decided to call for carry-out to get the generic favorite of mine, Pad Thai. The waitress asked if I wanted it with Shrimp without telling me it would be $4.00 extra, so when I got to the restaurant, I went ahead and paid for it without questioning as long as it would be as "good" as the reviews say it is.
I eagerly drove home to take my first bite of the Shrimp Pad Thai, and turned out to be extremely disappointed with the soggy noodles that had only a few dried up pieces of shrimp, and an overly sweet or sour taste that left a dry salty distasteful feel in my mouth. I'm not one to complain, so I forced myself to keep eating it until it became unbearable. When I realized the agony of forcing myself to the point of not being able to eat it anymore and that my $15 had gone down the drain, I drove all the way back to the restaurant, returned the dish, and asked for my money back. Instead of apologizing for the bad food, the waitress argued with me and pronounced that I had eaten half of it already, as if I was lying and asking for a free meal. I felt like I had to defend myself, so I explained to her that I am not one to complain or return food, and that it was my 1st time doing this. I emphasized that it was the worst Pad Thai I ever had. Even a hole in the wall place had better food than this place!
Anyhow, after getting offended and a bit hot-tempered, she tried to shut me up and give me my money back. All I can say is RUDE SERVICE and TERRIBLE FOOD!!! Whoever gave reviews on good service and good food did not have that waitress OR that Pad Thai. Either the manager needs to monitor his cooks and servers, or some customers are just lucky. In my book of best restaurants, it SHOULD BE consistent!
