Best Sushi and Udon Soups EVER!. Yashima is a good place to go if you're in the mood for a healthy salad, some cold soba noodles, a big bowl of udon, tempura, or a nice hot cup of green tea. There are heavier items on the menu as well as bento boxes, but you can make it light if you look. I generally go on my own and take a good book for a quick bite in a nice environment. It's a good place if you're looking for cheap, non-sushi Japanese food. Also, the prices are very reasonable!

Spicy Tuna roll is amazing, best soups; i love the curry; they have a lot of good healthy foods as well such as the tofu salad; i really recommend this place specially for lunch time or for business meetings or even to study! they have free internet and a large table for you to sprawl your books around! the service was excellent and the food is served fast!

great casual yet authentic Japanese. I've been going to Yashima (formerly Mishima) since it opened years ago. My experiences there have been consistently good. The quality of the food never wavers, nor does the prompt and friendly service. The tofu salad is a must-try, and the soba and udon are also excellent. There are no bad choices here, and if you can't decide, try a combination which includes soba or udon and another entree item.

Great value, great food. The food hear is really good. In addition to their great tofu salad and calamari as appetizers, they have this "combination" menu where for under $10, you get a pretty decent sized meal consisting of noodles and a rice dish or some sort. This place has become a staple for me - a great place to go if you want a quick, satisfying meal.

Great Food. I'm not from LA but every time I visit I go to this restaurant. The Tofu salad is the best. I still can't find it anywhere else. So if you go there definetly try the Tofu salad. There prices are very reasonable too. You get a good protion and good quality.
