It's all in the Fries. This is definitely a Westwood staple, and a great stop for lunch. They have great salads and really good sandwiches as well, not to mention a pretty good location for people watching, but the Sweet Potato Fries are definitely what sets the place apart. I'm not saying they're as good as Father's Office, but they're still pretty incredible and you don't have to wait 2 hours for them. In fact, there never seems to be too much of a wait here and all the food is pretty reasonable. Good qualities in a college lunch spot.

Casual and comfortable dining experience. Damon and Pythias is one of my staples in Westwood because it not only is well-priced, but there is enough variety here to please any palette, mostly because the menu is customizable. In addition, the portions are generally pretty heaping, but it is possible to order half sandwiches and salads to reduce the leftovers (and food intake). The meat here might be a little expensive for a college student but is usually from a good cut, and I've never been unhappy with it. My favorite: the Southwest Salad- love the corn nuts! Onion rings are also amazing.

Healthier food that's still satisfying. The name of the restaurant is misleading, but the food was great even if it wasn't exactly Greek. I ordered a barbeque salmon sandwich that was overflowing with greens, onions, and chunks of tomato. The grilled asparagus appetizer, which is literally just five stalks of grilled asparagus on a plate, was also good.

My office constantly orders food from here for meetings (that I don't attend), and now I know why. My only complaint would be that it's a little on the pricey side.

Casual Westwood eatery draws a lunchtime crowd with creative salads and sandwiches.. In Short
Though it sounds like the restaurant was named after Greek gods, Damon and Pythia's actually serves flavorful California cuisine. A lunchtime staple for UCLA students, this street-side café tosses up huge salads, hot Panini sandwiches, even steak. Try the California Cobb salad, with roasted turkey, chucks of fresh avocado and caramelized onions, or the sweet and tangy teriyaki salmon sandwich for a healthy but deliciously filling meal.

Good lunch spot. I've been a fan of Damon and Pythia's since being introduced my freshman year at UCLA. At first I thought it was Greek because of the name, but its really more California-esque food. The salads are all huge and if you want to get creative, you can make your own. Also, the garlic curly fries are AMAZING, but really really really garlicky!!

Great Greek in Westwood. I was never a huge fan of Greek food, but Damon and Pythias really converted me. Their huge-portioned, hearty salads and sandwiches are really worth the time and money to go out into Westwood. They really pile on the meat on both salads and sandwiches, leaving you full and satisfied... And I can't get enough of those garlic fries! I'm not a big fan of the turkey sandwich though (beware it is real Thanksgiving turkey meat, not the sandwich meat that you buy from markets).

Great sandwiches and salads. Damon and Pythias is a good place to grab lunch in Westwood. Their food is delicious, fresh, and healthy. Their turkey sandwiches on fresh bread are tasty, and I love the option of creating your own salad: choose the lettuce, dressing, meat (grilled chicken is good), and toppings which include honey-roasted walnuts, raisins, red peppers, cheese, etc. The fries are a good side. Warning: their portions are huge (a regular salad could last you through at LEAST two meals) and prices are a little high. You order at the counter, so it' s not a great date place, but there is patio seating outside which is nice on a sunny day. You can also order food to go.

Yummy garlic fries. The sandwiches are big enough for two peopel to share, and are pretty good. But the real draw is the garlic fries. There's also blue cheese fries if you really feel like repelling people with your breath. During the day, there's free parking across the street.

great sandwiches!. i love getting their t.club with cranberry cream cheese. they pay close attention to detail and it shows in their food. the prices are reasonable--i like taking visiting friends here for lunch on a nice day to eat in the patio. i had some soup one time here, though, and it was not very good.

I don't get the appeal. All of my friends just rave about Damon's amazing salads and sandwiches, so I felt I had to try it. And I have to say, I just don't get it. My sandwich was extremely dry and bland, and the bit of salad I had off my friend's plate wasn't fantastic. It's cheap and the points system they have is a great idea for college students (if you sign up as a member, the more you eat there the more points you earn toward a free meal). Maybe my taste buds are different, but there are definitely better places to eat in Westwood.
