Very bad experience, do not use!. 1. Called for an estimate, they wouldn't give me any instructions over the phone, said they can't say anything until a technician comes in. Technician arrived, said he can't diagnose anything because the fridge was unplugged. I said, "how come I wasn't told on the phone to keep it plugged in". Technician basically said "tough luck", charged me $45 and said they will come again any day within 3 hours of my call.

2. I call again after I plug the fridge in, call them again. Now they told me they are booked indefinitely, and can't even give me a time when they are available.

I then asked for a refund of the original charge, they were very rude saying something like "You are not going to see your money again" (literally).

3. Long story short, I call the credit card company, dispute the charge, and will never call General Appliance Repair service again.

TOM IS A GOOD REP AT GENERAL APPLIANCE INCORPORATED IN GLENDALE. My wife found General Appliance Repair Incorporated on line. Our refrigerator was spoiling food. I contacted the customer service representative to inquire about service and company references. I asked and the customer service representative told me that they were not part of a business review group. The rep told me his company did not feel the rating system with the review group were not fair for small businesses. The representative suggested city search and the yellow pages for customer reviews about General Appliance Repair. Needless to say my initial feeling was I felt comfortable with the reps at General's confidence of his company.

I called General Appliance and did not have time to check reviews and made arrangements too have a tech come and look at my refrigerator. The tech arrived with in an hour and determined that the problem was a bad motor. Parts and labor were approximately $200.00 with a 90 day warranty. After the tech left I discovered the motor was making a very noticeable fluttering sound. I decided to call the customer service rep and explained my concern. The refrigerator was working fine but the annoying fluttering sound was unacceptable. We made arrangements to have the same tech come back and check the annoying sound. Please note my refrigerator was 2 months short of 5 years old. The tech guy showed up agitated and proceeded to tell me why I did not tell him about the problem before he left the day of the repair. I told him that I didn't notice the problem I heard it after he left. He told me the refrigerator was working fine. He made me feel as if though he did not want to look at the motor. He proceeded to remove the panel and discovered the motor was loose and and fixed the fluttering sound. Once done the tech told me that fluttering sound was not his problem and that he could charge me a $35.00 service charge for showing up with a elevated agitated voice. I thanked him but felt very uncomfortable with his Customer service attitude.
